@Sonicrulz12 You can run once you get the ability from Betilda/the fairy. (If I recall correctly that's her name) I think the Circle button let's you run on the PS1 version.

That cage in gong heights can also be obtained by jumping and flying when the drum goes up. I didn't even know the running method.
