The Lakers (Bryant and Bynum) jumped on his back intentionally to injure him. Otherwise with Perk, they would have won the rematch in 2010. Shows how important Perkins is. He's able to guard Shaq and even reduce Howard's effectiveness. Only weak against guys with quick footwork like Nowitzki/Nene. But regardless, a great leader and an amazing defender. The Celtics should have kept Perk and Rondo, and rebuild around them since Garnett/Allen/Pierce will have to retire sooner or later.

I love Perkins as much as any other Boston fan, and think it was very very dumb to trade him along with Daniels and the rookies. But I'm not as mad at Ainge as most fans. We can't forget Ainge was the one that brought KG and Allen to Boston, so he can't be that bad of an owner. We might not have a title this decade without him, even though he cost the Celtics a 2nd.

Still, this is ridiculous, and the worst possible trade the Danny Ainge could have done. Losing Perk is losing the identity of the team. A though, stone hard defensive team. I don't have anything against Green joining the Celts, but losing Perkins is almost as bad as it could get.
