It happened for two decades (if not more). Religious agencies, lawyers and judges were in on the racket. No wonder adoption records were kept secret! These people were criminals, plain and simple.
Did this happen in the 1960's also? My husband was adopted from PEI....there was a Sister Henry involved......We found his mother and she said her parents made her give him up....we spoke on the phone a number of times , then one day she stopped calling us and wouldn't answer her phone. She also wouldn't give us any information about my husbands father.
Its completely disgusting what the catholic church has done. 150,000 infants in Australia and another 300,000 in Europe. Its a sickening tragedy. And now they want the government to help with monetary apologies. The catholic church should be banned from every country on the planet.
