Dear all, this form is known as Pai Puh Lian (Eight Linked Steps), or could also be pronounced "bai bu ren", or perhaps conceivably "hap po ren", and is from a Fujian White Crane system.
I think you are all being a little hard on the poster. The title says "Chinese Form which in Karate is Happoren", he doesn't say one cam before the other, he just says the form is Chinese, doesn't know the name and the Karate name for the version of the form is Happoren. geez guys, if you wish to argue about semantics, at least study the damn language and see what something means instead of firing off commnets like illiterate hicks
Well said Koldztone. You get all sorts of stupid comments on here by people who think they know it all.If you answered them all it would be a full time job with plenty of overtime. The poster must be amused, bewildered or depressed by the dumbidity of it
yeah, who ever posted this title is really ignorant...everyone knows those okinawan forms are based off the original chinese forms not the other way around.
Isn't it the other way round? Happoren was originally a Chinese white-crane kata, Jin Sei Kai or Karate's version of Happoren are both "versions" of the original Chinese "taolu".
I realize this is just semantics, but in your video description, it should really say that this is the form that created your "Jin Sei Kai" or whatever since Chinese martial arts came before Japanese.
