I've got no problem with Dere on this program, because it's a load of crap, jut for entertainment, but when I saw him live on the tele, he was a complete fraud, it was embarrasing but funny to watch, he gets caught out so many times and messes up so much... bless him.

I have read and saw the video where Cairen and Yvette called him a fake. Cairen had tricked Derek and Derek took the bait and got caught. No medium could give so much information knowing everything at once. I believe David because he does not know all the surnames and everything all the time and needs time to try to gather information from the spirit. Sometimes David or Brian could not get further or much information when the spirit do not want to open up or hide from them.

i dont know whats wrong with derek everybody seems to slate him but in my opinion having watched a lot of most haunted season 1 onwards he seems to pick up on more verifiable facts than david wells, david is good too but i think derek is alot more energetic and gives the program a bit of pace

Exactly my thinking. Also, the fact that he(derek) often relies on Sam(his spirit guide or w/e) makes it quite interesting aswel.

Though, I find them both cool, derek and david. Derek though having the edge on my preference, because he picks up stuff in a more rapid pace.

I loved derek in season one, i dont believe that he is a fake because he has picked up on some great info. Most most haunted fans slag him off because he left the show and because yvette and karl fell out with him. I think that personally he shouldnt of left the show his career has gone down bank since. The grass is never greener.

He has a team of people who invistigate the places they go to before hand, and feed him information. He's a joke. The best thing Most Haunted did was to cut their association with that man.

Hunny if you want me to link you I can't. I just googled him spent an hour or so reading the articles on him and got that information about his team of researchers, I can't from memory remember what article or who, but I can guarantee you if you spend the time, goggle Derek acorah fake and then read some of the articles you will believe like I do that its true. there are way too many discriminating facts for it not to be.

I always thought Derek was just an entertaining showman but with no hints or prompting at all he revealed something in a reading that he couldn't possibly have known or guessed. I think though that most of his revelations are from research before the show and he feels under pressure to 'perform' on this show. I do think he has some genuine powers of some kind but that's just my opinion.

surely if he was a fake he would have quit after the kreed kafer fiasco.

I have to agree PP. the man is a charlatan and a lounge lizzard! despite the fact that he was caught he still manages to make a few quid. the hypocracy astounds me. :)

I think Derek does have a gift, but I also believe that he started to believe his own press and that was his downfall. He got to caught up in all the hype and it pushed him to want to 'know' more than say David and he took the bait with 'Kreed Kaifer'

i agree, i do think he has a genuine gift but he overemphasies it all for publicity purposes cuz people find his 'possesions' entertaining.

if he just toned it down a bit he would be a perfectly acceptable acceptable medium.
