One of the co-hosts in this clip calls Hayden Panettierre an "experienced skater", but she only learned to skate right after doing the Zebra movie and does little more than skate slowly (everything else was doubled). Why would Disney play her up so falsely?

no..i odn't htink so...five months only to work on her doubles? and i CAN tell by michelle's skating skills, that she can NOT do any double jumps....others..i'm not too sure...
it was in the special features on the dvd, and im pretty sure they say that michelle trachtenberg learned for 10 months, maybe it was five months for filming? i dunno i'll check once i get the dvd back from my friend. they have doubles for the harder jumps and falls. im pretty sure at one point in the commentary hayden panettiere pointed out that she did one of the jumps and it was a triple. the ones they had doubles they used computer graphics to put their faces on it.

The actors also have some stunt doubles who do the exteremely hard moves. They do things like spins by themselves.

they only really had stunt doubles for the triples and the falls. they did the double jumps themselves.
