  • wow, these are some of the best photos on youtube if not the internet. i just got a dslr and it is a nikon d3100. im wondering if a lowish end macro lens is good enough or if i should get the 920 doller one as a sort of "long term investment" any reply would be welcome.

  • a few good shots in there, but most where pretty average, good quality vid tho, please view my macro vids.

  • There was a picture of a color lotus and background was black and white. How did you do that shot ? Thanks.

  • I just got the Nikon D3000 and macro lense few weeks ago and still learning. I was enjoyed watching your macro photographs very much. Thanks and I definitely will check out your website slide show. Keep it up and please share some more of your photographs.

  • nice work, but very predictable subjects.

there are other things in the world that are beautiful too.

  • These are brilliant mate!

  • beautiful pictures!

  • 0:43 IS AMAZING!!!

  • i love when people spend time and effort to take pics of simple and most wonderful things like bugs and flovers

  • what were your shutter and aperture settings?

  • It all depends on the situation. All these shots are handheld and I believe the shutter was anywhere from 100 to 500 and aperture 2.8 up to 22 depending on the environment.

  • @chriselpuma : have you had your eyes checked out lately: if not, it's strongly suggested ....

  • @bloorwest now that i look at them, they are in focus my bad

  • @chriselpuma you obviously don't do macro otherwise you'd understand how depth of field works with this type of photography.

  • I like it :)

  • Macro photography is basically a name for close up photography. Not a stupid question at all, if you don't ask you won't learn.

  • Haha, that also depends on who you ask.

Macro Photography is technically anything w/ a 1:1 magnification or better. This type of photography is more close-up (or arguably extreme close-up) photography. I love both styles personally.

  • what was the macro photography??

n what was the different between the other photography??

sorry if this is a stupid question for u.

i'm just new in this photography.

n sorry if my spelling isn't right. i'm an asian. =D. malaysian

  • Amazing pictures!

  • Thanks for the kind comments. For some reason macro photography is always really fun and rewarding. I guess you see things where you cannot with your naked eyes.

  • It's true..I love macro Photography.

  • What lens?

  • I used the Nikkor Micro 60mm f/2.8 for this slideshow. I am about to get the Nikkor Micro 200mm f/4. I love photographing insects and flowers.

  • absolutley beautiful, my camera could never take pictures like that.If you like photography on a bigger scale please check out my latest video on youtube.can you give your views on it as I started doing photography last spring. i'm only 12 though so be nice.

  • Hi!

Lovely photos! I recently started doing photography and I auploaded a video on youtube, maybe you could take a look at it and say what you like dislike in the photos?

    Hoping for your reaction.

    Renske

  • I saw the video and I love it. You did a really great job. Kudos!!

  • i'm just now getting into dslr photography...what is bokeh? And your photos are outstanding....I hope one day to lose my current job so i can pursue my passions and make a living for my family with it? any tips?

  • Bokeh is the background blur. A good lens will give you a nice even smooth blur. You usually get this affect if you open up the aperture around 1.4 to 2.8

You can make it happen. Just go out and let your passion lead you. Everywhere you go, take camera you. Your city is your backdrop so take advantage of that. Let the world see your work by displaying it on youtube, or Flickr.

  • I totally agree. Some of the shots I used to Nikkor 60mm Micro and a lower aperature would of given the photo fantastic bokeh. Nice observation, Kudos!

    Thanks, David A Vu

  • nice job, top notch

  • Great stuff!...loved it all!..

  • 5 stars! very nice!
