  • i hope u fail

  • Answer: MSN Messenger is used to create the connection. Otherwise port 3389 (Terminal Serices port) will need to be forwarded.

  • I'm assuming you don't need to open ports, because Remote Assistance uses Microsoft's server for NAT Traversal (essentially, a middleman for establishing the connection)?

  • Just to clarify a point a 3:38, you choose either to use the invitation OR you put in their IP address. To use the IP option, you must be on the same domain or network, such as in a company or a home network. Other than that, very good video. Thanks for putting it up.

  • Yes, but when you live in North Dakota and people are dumb and have no routers.. the IP address will work fine because they are on a public IP not behind a router.. so yes my example works..

  • lol, ok. I was pointing out to most of the folks that live in civilization, wasn't a knock on your video. You just should have made a lil footnote that the ip address applies if you are in the "rural" areas. *smirks*

It's ok, kid. You did a good job. :-)

  • theres a much easier way

  • Dude, I dont give a fuck if there is a easier way.. I had to make this for a class and got extra credit for putting it on youtube.. I know A MILLION other ways that are better then this unsecure bullshit.

  • haha, it's like ur teachers read that comment, lol

  • i just have one question.. if my friend needs help and hes running windows vista and i want to help him but i am running windows xp.. will that work useing msn remote assistance? and great video

  • If the person helping is running XP and the person getting helped is running Vista, you cannot use Remote Assistance unfortunately. Unless there has been some sort of patch to it during Service Pack 2, this still holds true.

If the person helping is running Vista, and the person getting helped is running XP, you can use it.

  • Yeah, the whole point of using remote assistance is to help some one else with a problem they have. But I mean, so far remote assistance is more difficult to use. I mean I tried both remote assistance and desktop and both don't work. Everyday I use remote assistance it tells me that the other person might have close remote assistance when they have not. Its pisses me off Dx

  • Thank you very much!

  • LMAO sounds a bit like Dane Cook narrating lol

  • LOLL!!!!!

  • Hahaha wow seriously, he sounds like Dane.

  • Yea lol

  • LOL!

  • 5:47 of different ways to find the remote assistance, but I was hoping for a video that would actually show how it works while connected to someone else's pc.

  • Okay, I have a friend who is using window 98 and i have window vista and they need my help constantly. How can they enable me to get remote access to there computer, please tell me step by step. They need me help.
