I may not be here today if it wasn't for this breed.When I was 3, a convicted rapist broke into my mothers house at @2am. Our pitbull Lucy was stabbed 6 times and continued to fight. This man didn't even get close to my momma who was pregger with sister at the time. Lucy gave my .mom the time to get outta bed, get herself and I outta the house and call 911, Lucy held on to him tell police arrived. With all the help possible, she still died a few days later from her wounds. u are terribly wrong!

Just because you've found a few pictures of the rare aggressive dog doesn't mean that what you've put into the above video is true of the breed or "fact". If you want "fact" why don't you consider how many kids are killed by their parents or guardians each year, how many people shoot each other each year, or how many people die in car accidents. That's not all the pitbulls that are agressive. But they almost always threat people with their rage and power. I know cases of pitbulls who have killed his owner or parents of the family that it belongs. Their rage and aggressiviness sometimes are inexplicable, but we cant say PITBULLS ARE KILLERS, but sometimes they are very very dangerous. But Pitbulls are used for help to, here in Brazil some associations which take care of sick kids, use pitbulls to play and help the kids in the treatment.

I had a pit/gsd mix and we fostered 2 boxers for a short time and he tried to kill them @ first. but after living with them for a couple of days we would let them in the backyard and they would play all the time, then he got depressed when they left

Honestly, I have to agree with this video. In our state alone, there have been 17 cases this month (Sept. 09) where there have been either a human or family pet injured or killed due to a pit bull. Hell one paralyzed from the waist down (Iraqi soldier) while sleeping had all 10 (yes 10) toes eaten off by a pit!!! Now I have an Irish Setter and never I mean never in a million years even if I put peanut butter on them would never literally eat my toes from my feet. Just my opionion though : )

Did you know that Pit bulls are one of the fastest growing population of dogs?Also, unfortunetly because of media that portrays them as vicious many "unsaviory characters" are drawn to them and they are probably the most abused population of pets. Also since pitulls do have such a bad rap right now any incident is sensationalized while other breeds that do the same thing is not a media draw.
I do understand your side of it, and I do not condone any cruelty to animals in no way, shape, or form. Hell I cried during this video as I do have a heart and it is sad to see an animal abused and tortured to this extent. I was hesitant about pitbulls too before I worked at my local animal shelter for 2 years. While I was there I saw the worst dogs my city had to offer and i can tell you with complete honesty that the majority of the pitbulls were no danger to people. We had more chows, akitas, and german shepherds that were peopel aggressive than pitbulls for sure.

I have viewed some vids with children hugging and kissing these dogs by owners who love them and it scares me to death. I may not be here today if it wasn't for this breed.When I was 3, a convicted rapist broke into my mothers house at @2am. Our pitbull Lucy was stabbed 6 times and continued to fight. This man didn't even get close to my momma who was pregger with sister at the time. Lucy gave my .mom the time to get outta bed, get herself and I outta the house and call 911, Lucy held on to him tell police arrived. There are two types of pitbulls PURE BRED and mixed. Those huge pits are mixed and the smaller ones are pure bred! The purbreds have different types too but these huge dogs were bred with Cane Corso, Dogo Bordeux and Mastiffs. It's feasibly impossible for any dog to attack like a shark, lion, tiger, or any other species other than a wolf or canine. Just because you've found a few pictures of the rare aggressive dog doesn't mean that what you've put into the above video is true of the breed or "fact". If you want "fact" why don't you consider how many kids are killed by their parents or guardians each year, how many people shoot each other each year, or how many people die in car accidents. I certainly know which is the deadly species, and it isn't a breed of dog!!!

Okay, not to be rude but you need to read more. Pitbulls are nick named the nanny dog for a reason, not because they kill/attack kids. Do some study work. You will find pitbulls passed their tollerence test with a high 89 %.. while other dogs barely made 73 %.. Also if you "read" you will find that other breeds kill more ppl than pits. like a pomeranian (spelling?) That's not all the pitbulls that are agressive. But they almost always threat people with their rage and power. I know cases of pitbulls who have killed his owner or parents of the family that it belongs. Their rage and aggressiviness sometimes are inexplicable, but we cant say PITBULLS ARE KILLERS, but sometimes they are very very dangerous. But Pitbulls are used for help to, here in Brazil some associations which take care of sick kids, use pitbulls to play and help the kids in the treatment.

I had a pit/gsd mix and we fostered 2 boxers for a short time and he tried to kill them @ first. but after living with them for a couple of days we would let them in the backyard and they would play all the time, then he got depressed when they left

actually. over hundreds of years, in breeding-those PBT's that snapped at their masters were removed from the gene pool. PBTs are naturally submissive. and PBT stands for Pit Bull TERRIER. They are not even related to bulldogs. Ive been doing customer service for many years and ive dealt with and owned many PBTs. ALL were sweet and loving and liked nothing more than to express joy and appreciation..although they can be a stuborn and manipulative species, PBTs are a wonderful animal.

Ok, yes pitbulls are used in dog fights, but if a poodle was commonly used, would u be afraid of them? They can be just as vicious as a pitbull granted they are raised in the same abusive environment as fighter pitbulls.
Most these photos are of pitbulls snarling, not showing that they snarl at. if it was at a person, they would run not take photos. One is actually attacking a SNAKE, not a person.
Pitbulls make great family pets, they are very loving and loyal dogs, give them a chance!!!

Honestly, I have to agree with this video. In our state alone, there have been 17 cases this month (Sept. 09) where there have been either a human or family pet injured or killed due to a pit bull. Hell one paralyzed from the waist down (Iraqi soldier) while sleeping had all 10 (yes 10) toes eaten off by a pit!!! Now I have an Irish Setter and never I mean never in a million years even if I put peanut butter on them would never literally eat my toes from my feet. Just my opionion though : )

KYangel I respect your intellectual responce but here are many factors that you may not have considered. Did you know that Pit bulls are one of the fastest growing population of dogs?Also, unfortunetly because of media that portrays them as vicious many "unsaviory characters" are drawn to them and they are probably the most abused population of pets. Also since pitulls do have such a bad rap right now any incident is sensationalized while other breeds that do the same thing is not a media draw.

I do understand your side of it, and I do not condone any cruelty to animals in no way, shape, or form. Hell I cried during this video as I do have a heart and it is sad to see an animal abused and tortured to this extent. I guess I am just saying that I personally will never own a pitbull and will not let my children around them. I am not saying that all pits are like what you see on this video, but my kids are my life and I will not take the chance.

I was hesitant about pitbulls too before I worked at my local animal shelter for 2 years. While I was there I saw the worst dogs my city had to offer and i can tell you with complete honesty that the majority of the pitbulls were no danger to people. We had more chows, akitas, and german shepherds that were peopel aggressive than pitbulls for sure.

the reason ur dogs would 'eat someones ass up' is because it is bred and trained to do so, as any dog would. If u raise a dog to do that since it was young, it knows nothing else. it knows no love therefore shall give no love... (btw if u didnt like a pitbull, why do u keep getting new ones?)
If you bought a pitbull from a FAMILY breeder, it will be a beautiful loving dog. I assure it, try buying one from a family breeder not a Guard Dog Breeder.. See how much ass itll eat then.....

You know whats bad is I am a single mom of 4 kids and i have had these dogs all my life. The biggest problem is all the idiots that get these dogs and know nothing about them or thier breed. You must first and foremost socilize them a lot and there will be no aggression to other dogs. And socilize them highly with humans and they are the sweetest things.

All i have ever owned was pitbulls, & i can honestly say only one of them attacked me & my stepdad because the owner b4 us BEAT HIM.!.We were play boxing & he thought he was hurting me. When treated normally, they act normally, but the "wonderful" owners are willing to beat them half dead to make them agressive.
Oher dogbreeds bite much faster, the ONLY difference is here the strength these dogs have in their jaws, and that they are terrier: terriers do not let go once they have something, not even a Jack Russell terrier let's go.

I have viewed some vids with children hugging and kissing these dogs by owners who love them and it scares me to death. All I see is how big there heads are compared to the tiny kids heads and knowing it would take a second to tear the flesh from there face and how stupid people are to still let thises dogs around children. I am a dog lover but I know the difference in owning panther and calling it a hose cat!! Same thing here.

Ok Dutedraku, if you read my reply I said that if they are properly socialized and treated correctly they make great pets. I just would never personally own one. That particular breed along with some others would not suit me since I'm the one that would be the primary caregiver since that is just what happens with mom. Also I said that any breed can be vicious and secondly, THE NEWS SHOULD BE SAYING IN THEIR ARTICLE A IRRESPONSIBLE PERSON WAS AT FAULT.

Educate yourself-- Pit Bulls were used for dog fighting/bull baiting. Not human killing. In fact, any dog who ever showed aggression towards a human was immediately killed. Blame the deed, NOT the breed.

It's just unfornately that pits can do more damage is why they are in the news so often. Those news stories should mention over and over in there reports that idiot owners were at fault. Honestly I would never get a pit bull, it's just me but not saying that they don't make good pets when properly treated and socialized. Then again that is with any breed. I one time get from a neighbor her spaniel and that dog was vicious. The dog did not like a leash on, was skittish and yelped at anyone trying to pet her and wound up bitting me when I tried to bathe her. Also why would you leave any animal alone with your child?
