Ive never played a previous MGS game (to my knowledge), but after seeing MGS4's release trailers, i did a LOT of research, and i still am. I dont know all the info, but I know enough about MGS to know what it is, what takes place, and who is involved. Please trust me, I have no disrespect to this series
