Back in the 90's and early 2000's we used to see caution-free races quite frequently. Heck we have even seen caution free races at Talladega as recent as 2002. I think those days are overwith though. EVERY time the race has a long green flag run...theres a debris caution to reset the field. Debris cautions 10-15 laps into a run are few and far between.
Kasey is a good man for saying that and bringing light to the situation. Competition sucked during this time and I guess this was NASCAR's solution to solve the problem.
kasey's so right they shouldnt through cautions like that, thats the 1 reason i really hate nascar (besides the drivers i hate). once wen i went they through caution cuz a hat flew into the track, it wasnt even in they way of ANY cars......in formula 1 someone hit a bunny with blood everywere but the bunny went flying to the side with no caution and in nascar if someone would hit the wall they would through a caution but indy or f1 they wouldnt so kasey, in my opinion, is totally rite!!!!! :D
I think it would be pretty stupid to get rid of New Hampshire. Im not just saying that because I go to those races im just saying that cause most races there are exciting unlike other tracks...
I believe that NASCAR should just put more tracks on the circuit. I've been to Dover twice and I believe that there should be one race to have on the schedule (it is a pretty good track to be at). Road America, Montreal, Iowa, and even Rockingham should be brought back (Mexico City). NASCAR is suffering difficulties in attendance now, but 5 years ago Dover was totally packed with 2 races on the schedule. Going to DAYTONA in two hours to see the Coke Zero 400, so hopefully Smoke will win!!Go 14!
@TheApostleEF I say make the schedule a round 40 race schedule. They need to bring back the Rock, race in Nashville, race in Iowa, and have the cup race at Road America.
@nascarfanatic2425 I hate to say it man, but they need to shorten the schedule not expand it. Like you said I would definetly add new tracks, and take away some of the tracks with two dates. Only problem is their not going to Nashville, because if Nationwide doesn't race there anymore, there's no doubt that the Sprint will never go back. Road America might actually be the next track they go and race at, just because of the success they've had there.
@TheApostleEF Well that's my point, the only reason why Nashville's closing down is 'cause they haven't had any Cup races there and the Nationwide races aren't making enough money. Yeah, I can see them racing at Road America. If they don't extend the schedule though, what I would suggest doing is making every track except Daytona, Talladega, and Bristol have maybe only 1 stop. That way, they'll be able to fit new races into the schedule.
@nascarfanatic2425 I would like to see no races at Daytona or Talladega until they stop this 2 car draft racing crap, and only 1 race at Phoenix, Dover and that god aweful track in New Hampshire,
@anonymousjoe9 Yeah, I hate the two-car draft thing too, but I still love Talladega and Daytona. There's 4 types of tracks though, and Plate racing only has 4 stops anyway, so it's not a whole lot being taken away. Short tracks, you really only need 1 stop at each of the tracks. Road Courses, not enough. Intermediate tracks get the most stops though, particularly them dang 1.5 mile places- which are no fun if it's a fuel milage race.
@anonymousjoe9 dover is one of the best tracks on the schedule they should get rid of the cookie cutter tracks 6 races at atlanta texas and charlotte and they r the same exact configuration and new hampshire is a bumper to bumper grind it out short track style one miler any true race fan likes racing not 2 mile tracks with 5 seconds imbetween each car.
I became a bigger fan of Kahne after this. NASCAR throws fake cautions. They say debris but they never show it. I find it interesting how debris cautions happen when its when someone is a about to go a lap down or if guys need to pit. We have seen less fake yellows this year but in previous years it was out of control. Its that kind of stuff that makes me not want to attend a NASCAR race because its become the WWE
@Crisgo3d ive always been a kahne fan and wish he raced for evernham and that whole team was still around plus i wish jeremy mayfield ( ex-evernham racer and was banned from racing) was still on that team he was a good racer
Phoenix is one of my least favorite tracks and I don't understand why people like it. One driver gets a run off the corner and that's it for the race unless something happens to draw a caution. I'm hoping this re-paving is going to turn the track into something more competitive so there's a reason to watch Phoenix.
@ravendreams176 tbh i like all the tracks ... sure theres boring ass racing from time to time ... but thats the sport ... unless your there ... theres not that many wrecks anymore .... i still love nascar though and i love good str8 racing ... but i need to go to more amature dirt racing ... they are so much damn fun!
thank goodness someone came out and admitted what either everyone knows or is afraid to admit . Nascar is fixed and shouldn't be considered a sport. I have been too 3 races, all fixed and I won't waste another dollar no matter how much my son wants to go too see this scam.
Honestly this seems to be true, late in the race there always seems to be a bogus debris caution.. sometimes the broadcast guys dont even see it. Also, i think nascar maybe radioing under funded teams (like Bobby Labonte spring race talledega race this year) to spin because bobby was all by himself coming off the turn and just loses it for no reason. It's really hard to get loose at talledega by youself. Just try throw my opinion out there
@joshman12100 Its always the backmarkers who seem to spin and its always with less then 20 to go the cautions seem to come out., Whats also interesting that we are seeing alot of green white cheekards lately
@MurphyMonster Nascar is at an all time low? Are you kidding me? The racing is the best I have ever seen since I've been watching it. Are you stupid? Maybe you like single file racing and not much passing or contact. Hell, if that's the case go watch formula 1.
@RowdyBuschRoks well he does have a point though, bill france, and the rest of nascar, are to busy playing favorites to let any of the little guys win, like this year, yea the racing was awsome, but at the start of the homestead race, they shouldn't of made jimmie automatically go ahead by 85-87 points, it should of stayed the same, so that way, we would have seen what would of really happened, either harvick or hamlin would have won, if they didn't screw those 2 over right first thing
Na$tard has gone completely out of control because of this and a variety of other things. I have basically stopped attending and watching these so called races on TV. All we can do now is pop in the VHS tapes and remember the old Nascar.
I member the 2008 phoenix race. they kept callin debri catioutions like 20 times in the last 50 laps of the race so jeff gordon could win his 76 race to tie dales record. even tony stewart said that race was fixed
@Saddman21 I wish they would cancel both races in Phoenix, that track sucks, the worst racing ever, same goes for that other flat ass track in New Hampshire, they say they cancelled the 1 race in Atlanta, because of lack of attendance, if that is the case, they should cancel both races in Dover , the stands there this year were almost totally empty, so come on Nascar get rid of Dover. The Atlanta track is one of the very best on the circuit, the racing there always provides for a great finish.
I Remember that....
