Bikes and skates >>>>> cars
Both require physical strength.
Both require physical skill and coordination.
Both are good exercise and help you to lose weight
Neither produces much pollution
Neither is extremely expensive
Neither is completely dependent on an overly EXPENSIVE and DANGEROUS FUEL source in order to operate correctly.

Here's one thing I've noticed. Back decades ago, cars were cheaper, people had more kids and larger families. So cars made a lot of sense back then.
But now living is more expensive, people are marrying less, and having less kids. So a 2 ton, metal vehicle that runs on an increasingly expensive fuel doesn't make as much sense.
In my estimation they should sell smaller more efficient cars along with 1 bike and two pairs of skates as a package. That would help a lot. IMO. :-)
