I can honestly say with pride and honor that about a year ago, Slayer came to San Diego and I was walking back to the pit, and I saw a very big man out of the corner of my eye and realized it was Gene Hoglan just chatting on his phone. At first, I couldn't believe it was him, so I asked the girls he was with and they confirmed it was him.

So I had the chance to talk to him, and even be lucky enough to get a picture with him.

He is honestly, the nicest, and most humble Badass on this planet.

I first heard Gene Hoglan on Death's album "Individual Thought Patterns". I was like, man this guy is fucking skilled! The way he plays rhythms with the guitar melodies is very innovative. His sound on that album was nice and gritty, which I liked a lot.
