Hey i jailbroke my itouch and the headphone jack messed up (not because of jailbreaking it). so i restored it and sent it to apple with my warranty and it did not ruin it, they didnt say shit about it and it came back fixed. so poop on you lol

the only good reason to jailbreak the iTouch was when you couldn't get apps through apple, but now they have apps, so it's not worth risking the warranty just to get around apple's charging money for apps.

Yes it is! One of the funnest parts of the iTouch (or iPhone) was being able to customize themes using Winterboard and whatnot! I also used WinSCP to look into my iTouch's personal files, and placed my own sliders into them. I also implemented my own theme which only changed the slider text. It is 100% worth it in my opinion. also, the bluetooth is half-assed anyways and barely works if at all...

there is no way you can permanently brick or crash your ipod touch or iphone all u have to do is watch youtube vids telling you how to fix it! there is so much more u can do with jailbreaks! if u get ibluetooth u can actualy transfer files from a phone to ur ipod!

i wasn't talking about that. i meant like if the device malfunctions such as the sound no longer working or stuck pixels, apple will fix or replace the ipod for free under the terms of the warranty. if you jailbreak, and something happens to the device, you lose the warranty. therefore, in the event that a mechanical problem occurs, i want to guarantee myself that i will have my warranty by not jailbreaking the ipod.

the geniuses at apple probably have a way to tell whether or not the installer program was forcibly placed on the ipod at one time or another even if you restore. i believe this because when i had my 1st gen touch, it originally had 7.26 Gb of space, and before apple had apps, i did jailbreak. after jailbreaking, i lost .18 gb of available space.
