  • Ahhh Sylvia: I love this one and your voice is perfect for it. I found the banjo tab and would love to learn, but my timing is off and it has been difficult for me, I don't know why. Kay in our group has been trying to help, when we can get together. Maybe one day I'll get. Love your version. Very pretty. Thanks for sharing. Gwen

  • @cadjunk Thanks very much for your kind comments, Gwen. Hey, I know EXACTLY what you are talking about with the timing. It was hard for me, too. What helped was to count ONE two three FOUR five six SEVEN eight nine and put a bit of emphasis on the first triplet note. Hope that helps - you will get it, keep trying! 8o)

  • Excellent job, your singing and playing is just beautiful. Laura

  • @laurabrake1 Thank you very much for your kind comments, Laura - headed over to yours soon. 8o)

  • Hello Sylvia... I agree with Anette..good idea with the recorder. They are not easy to play. I was in the recorder band at school in the 60's and found it much better for everyone if I didnt blow :*).. got away with it too hahaha.

Your harmonies sound really nice... well done.

Check out> transatlantic sessions< on yt for lots of this stuff.

    Leoooooooo

  • @leobluesy Hello Leooooo - you're absolutely right - not as easy as I thought at all. If you blow too hard or don't have your fingers pressed down hard enough, you get squeaks I'm finding. Most kids try this out in school like you did, but our elementary school never taught music for some reason. Thank you on the harmonies - they can be hit & miss for me - sometimes wish I had a better feel for them. I will check out the link - thank you Leo! 8o)

  • Hallo Sylvia, I was surprized to see you play the recorder. It is great instrument and you can do a lot with it. Playing harmonies with it is a great idea.

    Nice greetings from Anette

  • @TanteA Hallo Anette - yes, surprise! lol It's always fun to try something new. If I was younger & had more time I'd also try violin or fiddle, banjo, drums, mandolin, bass guitar, flute, chimes, and polish my piano skills. lol But you are right about the recorder being a great instrument. I have seen you play it in a lovely way. Yes, it makes great harmonies. Thank you for your comments and best wishes. 8o)
