Omg...this was my MOVIE back in the day!! :D Elijah Wood was so cute. They don't make kid's movies like this anymore these days. Now everything is either fluff, or rated PG-13/R. This movie was deep, but at the same time very entertaining and enjoyable for even young kids.

although it's not exactly like the book, in the movie there are still the main aspects of the book: the pure heart of a child and making up your own mind! the movie makes you feel good and elijah wood plays huck just like you'd imagined him, just a little younger!

This is probably the best adaptation of Huck Finn yet.... Which is a shame. While not a bad movie, it makes the mistake of playing Huck Finn as if it were Tom Sawyer, with classic American Romanticism..... Huck Finn satirized that same sort of film.

Still, a good darn film....

@goji2099 I agree! It seems like Mark Twain intentionally added sarcastic undertones to the novel to satirize the positive, transcendental side of Romanticism. This movie is good but, well, it HAS been Disney-fied....and doesn't quite match the intentions of Twain. But indeed a good movie!

There was a movie similar to this one, with a little boy. But he was running from the dirty old man in the woods or something, the man was suppose to be hanged. Cute little boy kind of resemble elijah wood but he was another famous disney star. I cant think of the name of that movie....help.
