  • beautiful aircraft sir beautiful

  • how i wish i was that pilot thanks

  • You sir...Are the luckiest man on the planet.

  • great...

  • dude, is that your plane???

  • Wow. The thing almost looks easy to fly. That was awesome.

  • whats the name of the song? I love it

  • @Yamaha950 Moby "Everloving"

  • Woould have been a GREAT video without the crappy music. Time to turn this shit off. Post it again with the engines as the music and your count will go up.

  • That was incredible..he sure had a lot of back-stick in it at touchdown.

  • very impressive! very good music- i love this engine sound too- but from outside, not from inside- you only hear a "broooooooo...." ... thnx!

  • Nice music - BUT NOT FOR THIS!!!!

  • What the heck ??! This is one of the greatest airplanes on the world with an awesome engine sound and you put this boring kind of whining music over it ? Are you nuts?! Biiig dislike dude !!

  • the planes from the era just before and just after wwii have always been so cool to me....this was a time in our country when we could still fight to win...and did

  • Very cool movie!!Please do more.

  • FLYING BULL P38-- Instrument Panel now sports some modern equipment: GPS Garmin 530/580,Tru-Trak autopilot and digital 406mhz ELT (satellite based). This onboard video was made in 2008 after this Lightning (N25Y) emerged from a four-year-restoration at Ezell Aviation. That is Breckenridge Airport (KBKD) runways 4 and 17 visible in several shots made at low altitude.

  • GAY ass music, i wanna hear engine!.

  • @driftability

No argument there. I don't get it , don't understand it. If I want to listen to music I'll listen to music. When I'm watching a video of scale or RC aircraft I want to hear the engine noise, wind, etc, etc... not some artsi-fartsi song at full volume! If you feel compelled to pretend to be a "music-video" producer fine. Put the music in the background barley audible.

  • What is the name of the music in this video?

  • Awesome video..great music it match it too!!

  • That's a dream...... do anything for an experience like that.

  • @patherjkh thanks for four minute slice of flight heaven, although I would have liked to at least hear the sound of the tires screeching as you landed.

  • What?? No engine sound??? It was artistic but I can tell you don't have you ticket.

  • *Sigh* Just beautiful. :)

  • awesome machine

  • my dad has a 59' Piper SuperCub and its really fun to fly but this p 38 looks a lot more fun.

  • Awsome vid i love it one small issue i have with it..The avionics look like ther new...ahh well its still a P-38

  • @lamage89 they have most likely been replaced to meet new FAA standards

  • @JMoney5251 true true

  • Wow! Fantastic aircraft....fantastic flying...great video. Thanks for posting this.

  • Not a helmet cam. What a treasure...

  • Owner :RedBull (flyingBulls)

Type: P38L (it is the 2001 crashed P-38 White Lightning)

Note : it is the original-modell without modifications

  • This was made at Breckenridge TX after being rebuilt by Nelson Ezell and his crew. Nelson is at the controls. This P-38 belonged to Lefty Gardner and was crash landed by his son Ladd in a Greenwood-LeFlore (MS) plowed cotton field west of the airport. P-38L, N25Y is no doubt one of the most famous Lightnings. During its early racing days it was modified with more streamline P-38F engine cowlings and remained that way through the Ezell rebuild where Nelson hand made new ones.

  • Wow, cool. A 2-seater P-38 or a helmet-cam? Is it an original, or a modification? What's with the yoke, anyway? I don't remember it being on that housing coming from the starboard, I thought it was like a control column, just with a yoke mounted on it. Where does it connect to the plane? And if anyone knows what song this is, could you let me know? It's nice.

  • I'm not the poster of this vid, but here is what I know.

    Song: Moby Everlovin

Yoke, it is cantilevered and looks like the original.

Your sitting in a nacelle, so I am guessing that the only way to run the cables to the elevators is down the boom.

Instruments are updated with modern avionics.

I dont think there would be enough room to convert to a two seater because there is the flap drive motor and the fuel surge tank back there.

Probably worth almost 2 million bucks.

  • I could have sworn I wrote a reply last night; I must have left the window without posting. Oops. They did make a P-38M, a 2-seater night fighter version of the P-38L. 76 built, but they were to late to see action. I doubt there are any left. I'm still trying to figure out how this video was filmed; it's not a fixed-cam, since it moves around. It's either strapped on his head, or there's someone behind him. A :17 you can see an arm in a black T-shirt; whose? Does the guy have 4 cameras, or what?

  • @Hamilton940 Your estimate of 2 Million is likely low."Glacier Girl" was sold for about 5.5 million back in '07.

  • beautifull plane!

  • Excellent Footage and Audio matching

  • Very cool video. How many people ever get to see the cockpit view of a flying P-38? This video is awesome.

  • Damn that looks fun!

  • shit this is nice

i wish i could be the pilot of a p-38

  • can someone say me the name of the song?? wonderfull peace of enginering this airplane.. i lovit!!!

  • a wonderfull peace of aircraft... amazing!!! can somone say me the name of the song?

  • That was just beautiful. That man is incredible.

  • This is awesome! My grandpa (still with us) flew these for the Army Air Corps in WWII!

  • wow that would be an awesome ride

  • i want one.

  • now THAT was cool.

  • Thanks. Love the Moby too!

There's a P38 buried in the sand here in N.Wales, been there since the war, google 'Maid of Harlech'

it's sad, I wish they'd dig her out.

  • I looked it up and found a sight where there trying to raise her that beautiful girl and put her where she belongs!

  • bring her back to the United States?! please tell me where this site is!

  • just google maid of harlech

they intend to make it a museum piece.

  • Why do people insist on covering up the sound of 2 allison engines with music?

  • @thefianna x2. Yes: WHY?? I wanted to hear those engines roaring too, and all the cockpit sounds also. The music was OK, but it could be edited at a lower volume... Better luck next time.

  • @thefianna They don't sound as nice from the cockpit as they do from outside.

  • @thefianna The answer is simple. People covering original sounds with music are either 10 y.o. and/or not anywhere near true aviation fans.

  • @thefianna you can find the majestic sound of an allison anywhere. so i dunno what u r complaining about.

  • @thomasschute123, That's true! Us P-38 fanatics appreciate the connection of a good music beat along with the cruise in a relic of yesteryears.

  • @thefianna I think becouse sometime with a simple camera its hard or impoxible record a good engine audio...

  • @thefianna In 99% of these films I would agree, but this time the choice of music just fit the film sooo good :-)

  • @thefianna Why can't people just shut up about the music and listen to the other 100 videos of Allisons?

  • ugh, they fucking butchered the control panel. at least another bird is in the air.

  • Absolutly Beautiful!!

  • Very nice...just finished building a scale model of a P-38...nice movie to finish the build off with. Thanks a ton!!!

  • Nice to see live in flight footage from N25Yankee again! So graceful! (the camera goes in the rear window) nice music selection.

  • That was awesome! Although Im still missing some engine sounds.

  • Fantastic!!

  • Incredible!!!

  • aerobatics are insane. i did some stuff in an old biplane and it was incredible.
