DOES ANYONE KNOW THE NAME OF THE SONG, ( MAYBE : "DOCTOR, GOOD DOCTOR " ?? ) off the "old friends" album by guy clark ?? song ends with the line : "second best $100 i ever spent " . GREAT SONG ! can anyone load it on youtube ??!! thanks
I just heard a cover of Old Friends on the radio, sung by someone named Terry Allen. A studio recording. But I can't find it on Youtube and I don't know who it is.
Anyone know if it is a new song? The cover I mean. Or who the artist is? I'd like to buy the single if possible.
Fantastic upload! In my eyes, Marty has always looked great and has worked hard learning his trade and preserving the history of the country music scene for all future generations. Thank you for sharing, and thank you, Marty, I appreciate you, both :-))
@TheGranule Get real dude, I know who Marty Stuart is, know he's been in the Bluegrass boys at 15, etc, etc. No disrespect, doesn't mean he doesn't look goofy.
1000Magicians thanks for the upload Guy Clark is just remarkable, and Marty and Philip were more than adequate as back ups, just a great performance on a very sweet medley!
This show was recorded in Dublin's Point Depot (now the O2) in 1988 and also featured Joe Ely, Lyle Lovett, Falco Jimenez and friends, Rambling Jack Elliot, a stellar line-up.
Emmylou Harris has Accompanied him on several recordings, particularly his own version of "Desperados Waiting For A Train" on his first album, Old No. 1, released in 1975.
Guy Clark (born 6 November 1941) is an American country music artist. In his career, he has released more than twenty albums, primarily on major labels. He has also written singles for other artists, including Ricky Skaggs, Steve Wariner and Rodney Crowell.
Covered by the best... Johnny Cash, David Allan Coe, Vince Gill, Ricky Skaggs, Steve Wariner, Brad Paisley, Alan Jackson, Rodney Crowell and The Highwaymen .

Do you know who Marty Stuart is?
He is old time Grand Ol Opry, and that is how they dressed 'in the day'. He has been playing professionally since he was 13.
How about you?

Haha Marty Stuart looks like a dick, but nice song! Maybe not so much on that shimmering acoustic guitar, but again any Guy Clark is supreme.

He looks no less ridiculous than M.J. ever did. I rather like it... much more interesting than boring old preacher suits. ;-)
