I have nevery fixed a PVC pipe so I found this video very helpful. I have noticed that he did not use a primer. Youtube is doing an excellent job with providing many videos on PVC repair. Collectively they have given me confidence to try this repair myself. The other thing that I noticed is that he wiped his hands on the grass to remove the glue. I would not do that because it is a toxic product on his hands. All in all, I really appreciate this video.
Well, one thing I see wrong, is that he didn't use primer on the pipe before applying the PVC glue. I had an experience with a blown PVC line that I hadn't used primer on, and a plumber explained to me that the glue and primer mixing together produce a chemical reaction that actually melts the pipe together. Glue alone is not guaranteed to hold. As for the "no speaking" well, that is just the posters way of saying "watching is better"........????? I'd like to hear what the heck is happening.
It's not a race...

How mufugly a stand pipe is when there are no plants to cover it - buy a pop up head from SprinklerHUT and put it in the ground.

PVC Cement and PVC Primer is what you need and you need to apply them both, primer first and then cement.

He did not use primer. He will be fixing it again in a week.

@rockinar no primer and he did not physically hold the glue in place for 30 seconds. I bet it pushed apart in less than a week
