OH no! everything that went wrong went wrong for me! I was saving my movie to my computer then i was going to put it on youtube when suddenly windows movie maker ran out of memory! I may somehow be able to post it tomorow, but it will be to late then. but I don't think I was going to win anyway, but i was happy of my finished project, even if it doesn't get to youtube!

Also one more thing, like everyone else said it doesn't matter if you dont have tons of effects or if you don't have great equitment. Just prove to the world that you don't need that stuff to make a great brickfilm. (Good Luck to everyone)

Why is everyone so hung up on effects? Effects do not make something frightening, and unless you have a lot of experience with them, they usually end up looking tacky anyway.

Get a good idea and use lighting, effective animation and cinematography, sound design, editing. You put all those things together and it'll beat some tacky effects any day.

I bet the person that wins this contest uses little to no effects.

I agree to vnanimation. The whole purpose of this contest and most of all, brickfilming, is to have fun. This is a hobby, and even if you are not good at it, you will improve and have more fun. if you are only interested in winning, then that ruins the whole point. I am not stopping you guys that are only interested in winning. Even if you dont have the right equipment, it does not stop you from giving up. Don't be just in it for the prize!

I would LOVE to enter this, as I think I could come up with some good sets/lighting in regards to this theme, but I have no chance. There are too many people who have way better cameras and effects programs (Filters would be immensely helpful for this contest) to make this a close competition, at least in my opinion. I'm not saying people shouldn't enter, because I think this is a great idea, they just an't expect to win if they don't have top-of-the-line equipment.

I agree completely, and I didn't say people shouldn't enter. But the fact that people with better programs, collections, and cameras won last time suggests it's those who have money for such things will win. And I think that's a bit demoralizing for those who only enter to win and those who are such a perfectionist that they have to spend money to make a half-decent film that they're proud of. =P

I think saying that people who have good equipment are at a huge advantage isn't totally fair. A *decent* webcam is helpful, but beyond that it's amazing what you can do with freeware. Most of the editing and effects work in my own films is accomplished with freeware, it's a little extra work but it's usually possible.
