This band, like so many great bands from times gone by, is no longer gracing this planets surface, nor will it ever again. 1979 happens only once and that once was 33 years ago. Although parts carry on into old age, it is a mere shadow of its former self. Such is life.
5 of the best musicians of all time on the stage at once! my favorite band by far of all time. saw them at my college in PA in the mid 1980's as a warm up to their us tour. amazing.

Oh my god. I was actually at one of these shows at the Spectrum. I camped out at the Spectrum for tickets in a tent with a bottle of Jack Daniels. The Spectrum was a cloud of pot smoke for every concert back then. I remember saying I bet this song gets 35 thumbs up some day on You Tube. Just kidding, I barely remember 1979. I found out the Phillies won the World Series in 1980 4 years later. I was a cloud of pot smoke back then. now I'm twenty years completely sober.
@drasticwillb Poor thing.. You need to burn one for old times sake. ; ) I remember doing Thch for one this concerts and I sneezed the whole fuckin time. They were here for four nights. YES always sold out when they came here.
I was there. This concert will be forever ingrained in my mind. Sadly, all the concerts, of other groups, I saw in the following years, paled in comparison. Except Kansas, Crimso, and a few others.
@godbluffvdgg Yes in the Round they called it. Nobody had any idea what that meant. And when they said the stage would rotate I thought that meant continuously, and everybody would be dizzy.
Wow, thanks for posting this! I was at this concert and had forgotten how good it was. As the band is coming on stage, if you hear some crazed Yes-head scream "Wakeman!", that's me.
They are tearing the old' girl down. I saw Yes, ABWH, Rush, Plant...the Flyers, Sixers all at the Spectrum. Philly does love Yes...and so do I. Goodbye, Spectrum...you'll be missed.
Yes will never make the Rock Hall Fame. Such a shame...such a shame.
Well. this is pure testament that YES peaked in '79 and should of packed it in back then. They are now simply a ghost of there former past selves; nothing more that a summer shack parody.... Beinoit, a lousy clone of Anderson....Bill Bruford was the smartest one for bailing when he did....
@aaronscrewme well, they have an album coming out before summer, and a tour later on this year, without Rick, but with his son Oliver, and without Jon, which may be a disappointment for some, but I saw the current lineup live. Lemme tellya... they were awesome. I was not let down in the slightest.
Where did you get this? The DVD I have of this show doesn't have them walking though the tunnel. It starts off with that guy saying THE LIGHTS YOU SEE IS NOT OUTERSPACE. IT'S 20,000 PEOPLE WITH MATCH LIT. Also some other footage you have from this show have different camera angles and close ups than the DVD. DO YOU HAVE THE AWAKEN FROM THIS SHOW? 1978 OR 1979 FOOTAGE OF AWAKEN WOULD BE THE BEST THING ON YOUTUBE. The 1977 Glasgow version was on youtube but was removed.
Great quality. I can't decide which is the most badass Steve Howe's live version of Siberian Khatru's solo: This one or Yessongs version. But I prefer when his Gibson ES-345 is clean with no effects in this solo.
I was at this show!! Thanks for posting!

The new lineup sucks. I saw them 2004 with this lineup you are watching and they were incredible. They are nothing without Anderson and Wakeman
