  • I got this job I really dont care i plan on becoming doctor any way so yeah I guess this will do for now.

  • graduated from ait winter 2010 I hated my ait just for the simple fact of the other soldiers but ait was easy! just dont get charlie company home of the cougars............ 3rd Platoon "ASSASSINS" best platoon ever!

  • Cut off score for E-5 is always around 950 - 999. It has been that way for twenty years.

  • I served three years in this MOS. It sucks. If you go overseas you will end up as a Postal Clerk which is Unskilled manual labor. You might make E-5 in eight years or get kicked off in years because your still E-4.

  • JUST GOT 42A AND LEAVING IN A FEW MONTHS!! IT WASNT MY FIRST CHOICE BUT WHATEVER A JOB IS A JOB!!

  • I am so not.made for this job.lmao im so rude to ppl always annoying me at work

  • I'm a 42A and I HATE IT! I'd rather spend a thousand years in hell than be a 42A for another damn day. Doing Fox 5 would make it a hell of a lot better but Christ is it annoying. Can't wait to reclass.

  • @Barin69 whyyyyyy? plz let me know just got offered this mos thinking of taking it

  • @Will100x35 It's mainly personal for me. I never imagined paperwork would define my time in the Army. It may depend on your unit but in my own experience, everyone needs something from us all the time and no one will listen to us. We work very late to take care of very tedious and aggravating tasks. Nothing can ever get done without us and some soldiers just can't do simple things for us. It's frustrating. I'd rather be doing something physical. But some people enjoy it. Not many that I know lol

  • @Barin69 where is your duty station at? what is your typical work week, and how often do you shoot the gun? Im leaving in 2 1/2 weeks..

  • @NJsBiggestAssHole I'm on the rear detachment of the 94th Combat Support Hospital in Seagoville, TX. It will depend on your S-1 but personally, I'm the guy who in processes all the new soldiers. I also take care of emergency contact information, which is really easy. Recently though, they've been making me do awards. The only time you get to shoot is when you go to qualify. If you're deployed, you might get put on a convoy or a patrol and you may get a chance to shoot there too.

  • @NJsBiggestAssHole have you found a love since being in the army? i know our MOS has a lot of females in it..

  • @Barin69 I'm coming in as a 42a with an associate degree, why do you hate it so much, if you dont mind me asking?

  • @Mikemonga Well, I hate it mainly because it's not the MOS I wanted. I was trying to get 68X but my recruiter never told me that that MOS didn't have split-option available. 42A is not bad if you're interested in it. But that's just the thing with me: I'm not interested at all. The people who picked 42A usually like it a whole lot.

  • @Barin69 How were your officers in this field? Hard workers?

  • ths job freaking sucks, its a customer survice job so u have to deal with everbodys bitching, and they always blame you. It doesnt feel like ur making a difference in this mos. And getting released at 1700 everday lol good luck with that. having to come in on the weekends, for suicides, leave forms and all that other bullshit, and im not be sexist but if ur a male, do not even think about this job.

  • I'm at AiT for this right now!! Hoooah!

  • @dannyg6862 How do you like it?

  • @anzwertree Its pretty chill man, i mean the classes are easy, just make sure to pay close attention to detail and dont fall asleep and hope you dont get bravo company haha

  • I leave for Fort Jackson on 20110829 and will do AIT in Jackson as well

  • who here is leaving 20111011 to fort jackson?

  • @robkeen2011 SWEET!!...

  • @JrCurrensy are you amp up about it. only 2 more months.. are you a guy?

  • I got this MOS and i leave for fort jackson 20110906.. Wasnt my first choice, but all of the jobs i wanted were taken. This video makes it look super boring, i sure hope it isnt..

  • @brebeamon7

I got the same thing, and am also leaving for Jackson on the 0609, It looks really boring but I have a friend who does it and he says it really isn't that bad. I also got option 40 though so that should help boost up the action.

  • PAthetic and highly sad mos

  • I got this...yay me. Cant wait to switch to active and change lol.

  • @yoyoyowasuppy Haha was it boring or something?

  • AG hooah

  • what badasses

  • @350z350zify Regardless what MOS you do in the army your gonna end up pushin papers at some point. If you stay in long enough to get your five then you will likely work ops for your company doing this same shit and doing up reports and other documents like personnel actions to take up to battalion PAC office. You got to diversify your career or your senior NCOs will take one look at your NCOER and say this guy is a shit bag, don't promote him.

  • @Roboss100 true, true, we do need these guys no matter how boring the job is.

  • If you are really interested in this MOS and you want more for yourself then getting out of the civilian life, take it upon yourself when you get to AIT, go buy a cd, or something you can save items from the computer on. When you are in AIT they will give you a slide show for EVERY EVERY section and type of job along with where it is in the Regulation. It would be at your advantage to save them so u will have it when you go to you unit. OH and instead of going out ask about Correspondace CRS...

  • @ who ever is iterested- I am a 42A and have been in for 4yrs. I am the type of person that can not be lazy and have a boring job because I WILL fall asleep, but with my job I don't get bored. For those who talk shit about my MOS they can fuck off and try to have my job for 1week. There is alot of Sections as a 42- Promotions, Awards, Finance, NOCER's, OER's, Mail, Accountability, making roster's, and we are the shop that takes care of the CMD group. NEXT-NEXT-NEXT

  • @xxkimberlin Yeah I know what you mean, I have started university in Australia to be a Human Resources Manager, and all my friends rib me about it, until I settled an unfair dismissal case and correct numerous payroll and superannuation (401 K), problems. anyone who says that its a boring job can jog on, always exciting and always something new to deal with.

Wish you the best, stay frosty.

  • I was guaranteed a job as 19Delta, Hooah! But when I did physical I failed 14 out of 14 on the colorblind test, and the lantern test I failed misarble too. So I got DQ'd from my dream. I had only two options available. 42A and CHaplains assistant. Im not religious so this was a no brainer. Ive always wanted to be ARMY, and Im limited no matter what because of my situation. So Ill just be the best goddamn desk jockey ever. Not everyone who chooses this is a "pussy"

  • This is my MOS! Can't wait to go to basic 20100622, Ft. Jackson. Im glad i got a desk job, people might not think that this job is tough because we dont leave our desk, but we handle ur paper work, and the smart thing to do is to kiss ass our ur paper work will be lost mysteriously.

  • @mantikuu you'll see my homegirl there pvt hernandez

  • what kind of boring pussy job. this is like a civilian desk job

  • @ikickbabies4fun Well see what happens when you get shot and wishing you had this pussy job.

  • People in every MOS get deployed. It is my mos and I like feeling important. Dont get on S-1 bad side cuz your paper work will get LOST!

  • desk jockey

  • Worst MOS ever. you will be lucky if you get to spend time in the field. If you like answering phone calls, dealing with idiots, pushing paper, working late long hours while everyone else is off and having people give you no respect cause your in this MOS.. then yes this jobis for you.. ooh and not to forget High Promotion points that never go low

  • @junglistelawn

So it's pretty much just like a job in the real world? That sucks.

  • @junglistelawn In my unit everyone always gives plenty of respect to S-1. They deal with your finances, they can help you out with a some extra leave dates and they do all your awards and promotions. This is a shop you don't want to have on your bad side.

  • As a soldier you do your own promotion. the only thing S1 does is validate it. Company can do that as well.. Awards.. all they do is add it on eMILPO to your ERB.. takes 5 seconds.. if your lucky they also put it on your OMPF but dont count on it. and S1 is not like supply.. you can get on their bad side and it wont change a thing.. Just make sure when you turn in your paperwork add a DA 200 to it. They will be accountable for it and its proof showing that you turned in your action.

  • @junglistelawn I don't think that this is the worst MOS ever. I think the job in the army where a soldier goes out to look for IED's is the worst job in the army. When I was in country we literally watched 2 guys for over a hour and a half scan for anything that could be a IED on the side of the road. That was their job. Finding IED's... that has to be the worst job in the army ever..

  • Worse MOS

  • What's wrong with this MOS?

  • It's my MOS. It's so BORING!

  • @thum169 Elaborate please. What is so boring about it? Why did you choose this MOS to begin with? Have you considered reclassing?

  • @edavismookie25 I posted this when I had a bad day at my unit. I'm alright now, i've come to realize this MOS is great and you can benefit from it SO MUCH!

    42A Hooah!

  • @thum169 What happened at the unit? Did something go wrong? Are all of the people in your unit 42A's? Well, I would trade places with you in a heartbeat. I originally enlisted in the army and did six years 1990-1996 and then I left the active army and army reserves both 3 years apiece except for a short time that I was AGR with the rank of Sergeant. Then 11 years later (2007) I enlisted in the National Guard. I get out (ETS) December 2013. All told in 2013 I will have a total of 12 years

  • @thum169 of military service. I have been to 5 countries and I have got to see many things and meet many people. I have had three MOS's (so far). I was 11B, 68J, and my current MOS 92Y. I have never had a major problem with anyone in the army until I was assigned to my present unit. It is a infantry company and if you don't know about the infantry let me tell you. They believe are God's gift to the army, that they have the only "real" job in the army, and that ever other MOS is filled with a

  • @thum169 non grunts that they call "POG'S" (People other (than) grunts). When I was a active duty 11B I never thought like this and still don't. Nobody forces anyone to take one job or another let alone join the army to begin with. I never understood the infantry mentality even though I was an infantryman whose first combat experience was in the First Persian Gulf War. Now as a 92Y (Unit Supply Specialist) I catch all kind of hell from these assholes who think that I am a lazy piece of shit

  • @thum169 because after a little of 9 years of military service I chose another job that I was interested in. Not only due to the interest but also you have to understand the infantry is extremely hard on their bodies. I am now having medical issues with my legs and lower back. I will be 37 years old this year and I can feel the big 40 coming just around the corner. I can't run around with the 17, 18, 19, and 20 year olds anymore. I just can't and neither do I want to. I believe that i have done

  • @thum169 my time and the army doctors as well as my own civilian doctor told me that I better take a easy. I still love the army and with my military and civilian education I feel that I can still be of use to the army (which is why I turned down a medical discharge.) I have less than 3 years to go and to be quite honest that is right around the corner! We are already in April! Man time flies! We are almost halfway through the year for crying out loud!! I am going to reclass in December of this

  • @thum169 year and I have been trying to determine which job to choose come that day (December 21st, 2010) It will most likely be my last job in the army and I really don't care if promotion points are high, low, or balanced. I am a Sergeant and if that is the rank that I leave the army as well then so be it. I like the NCO ranks much better anyway. I turned down my commander's offer to send me to federal OCS. I applied to the Warrant Officer Program (which I really wanted to be a warrant but oh

  • @thum169 well! Maybe it wasn't meant to be? I guess I will give it one more try. What can it hurt? Anyway, this looked like a good MOS. Let me tell you I have seen some bad Army jobs throughout my years and this one it seems is not one of them. This MOS and the 74D MOS are the 2 jobs that I am interested in reclassing as. I have my BA in Psychology and my masters in Biology from 2 Central Illinois schools. I am a part time cop and a lab technician at a local hospital so I can say when I leave

  • @thum169 the army in less than 3 years now that I have had a good run and the army was not all that bad. Anyway, let me know what happened and maybe we can stay in touch here on YOUTUBE. Tell me about this MOS. I think that a requirement is that you have to know how to type (which I do) I believe I am up to 50 words per minute but I am not sure. Anyway, take care.

  • this is a fun MOS its mine in the army

  • really that is the job i want if i decide to join already took the asvab. what is it like, do people in this mos get deployed a lot

  • this job looks easy

  • what credentials and college credits will i get with this MOS>?
