Remarkable. The stunning talent there at the start. I've followed Dan's music since my early 20s. For the music certainly, also to find some pearls Dan would include in each LP, each CD release. Thoughts on life (attempting to follow the path of the "Warrior"), and of course Love ("Are the promises made, worth the price of the game, are the spoils worth the cost of the hunt?"). Those of us who treasure Dan's music, all he gave us, will stay with us forever. This was a real treat. Thanks!
Dude I'm 18 and in music and figured out that my 3rd cousin was in this band. Wow, i been doing music for a couple years. Music flows through my veins. i feel like i can do it!
This music apparently recorded with Peoria high school buddies from the East Bluff, Woodruff High in Peoria before Fogelberg and Gary Richratth and Head East put Peoria on the rockn'roll map as it were.
I can't thank you enough for this and all the others as well. These are like gifts from heaven. What a miracle. I think Dan's spirit had a hand in this. I'm sure he knows how much his Dan fans are hurting and that this brings us some comfort. That's why they have been sent to you to give to us. Keep em coming. I can't stop crying. Ditto to what everyone else said for this & all the other posts too. Love them all. I am eternally grateful. Thanks from the bottom of my heart Beggars & PBRUD.
Thank You Thank You Thank You!!! I have often wondered what he looked like when he was young. And that voice! I also cried when I first heard the songs. Especially the one he wrote. Thanks again to beggarsgame and pbrud. You two are awesome!
Holy moly! As soon as you hear the second vocal you know it's Dan! This is incredible. Just incredible. All the way back to the late 60s or so. What a loss. RIP Dan.
Does anyone knows,if the song Maybe Time Will Let Me Forget, ever hit the air waves? It sounded so familiar to me? I lived on the Illinois/Indiana state line during that time and thought it made been played. I always had my trusty radio blasting.
Very cool!! The first song, wanted me to put on those white go-go boots and head on down to the Hullabaloo Show!! That was the sound of that time. There's also a Beatles influence in the song. The second number, I may had recognized it to be a Fogelberg song, just by the way it is written and sung. He wrote and sung the lyrics much different than most artist.I believe Dan is looking down from heaven with a smile and saying OMG! Thanks for sharing this. What a treasure!
This is fantastic for such a ripe age when pop music was just emerging. The stuff we were doing at 16, nothing like this...Definately captured the sounds of the day...but then they indeed hurry away...
Hi Beggarsgame...thanks so much for posting this incredible video. It's bittersweet to hear these gems of history. Dan's been gone for six months now and I find that hard to believe. On 12/16/2007, Dan went from being mortal to immortal. May his music live on. May Dan be soaring free, May Jean be blessed going forward. Thank you for your work Beggarsgame.
FANFRIGGINTASTIC!! Damn, even at the ripe old age of 16 the lyrics, the playing, and the great harmonies are there! I guess we shouldn't be surprised, but it's so amazing to hear. You're wonderful for sharing this find with us, thanks so much D and PBRUD.
