about the too slow comment, I have noticed many times that performers will rush their songs in concert which is the bigger sin by far, I guess when we get used to a certain tempo we don't like any changes, but I think on this one the slower pace gives it more depth of meaning, which this song is full of, I can't relly think of a bad version of this yet, just hope no one tries to cover it that can't put the power into it it deserves. Can you believe she is still such a strong vocalist ! yea Ann!!
Thanks for posting...they skipped this one this year in New York...hope they add it back for us next time around! Must add...the New York concert was one of the best I have ever attended...words can't truly explain how fantastic they were that night. So glad that they did Red Velvet Car...they are two women who have truly been blessed to have their passion fill their lives - and how fortunate am I to have
OMG!!! .....WHAT???? excuse me..jng201...SLOW THIS!!!! This is probably my favorite Heart song..(but how could I ever choose only ONE). I love these women and all their beautiful art -throughout my whole life. I'm a singer/songwriter of ...LOTS of years. These people are the reason I keep doing it ,in many ways.
Plus I wish soooo much they would have played this last-night so them in Ohio. But I did get to hear the NEW stuff :) and Covers of Zep and Who! :D But there is nothing quite like hearing Mistral Wind live...best way to hear it. Chilling <3
One of my fave. Heart songs ever!! SO passionate and Haunting! I seem to notice at concerts ppl get restless and are not that 'into' hearts slower song..Guess its a matter of taste but I really don't get how you couldn't LOVE this!

It's a good thing you didn't move here cause it really SUCKS as far as MUSIC or Work goes...I'm still Kicking my Ass for moving here, but; Live & Learn...It's a Right to Work St. which means employers can pay you whatever they want, take it or leave it. Sorry to vent, but I really hate it here...It's a great place to come visit and then get the hell out!
@DEBOROCK1 I spent the summer of 85 @ Ormond by the Sea,I walked to Daytona beach one time,it took all day,I wanted to move there it was so pretty and semi tropical.
Has anyone seen the video of "the other guys" (Roger Fisher, Howard Leese, Steve Fossen and Michael Derosier) in Heart performing at the Synergia Northwest Benefit in Tacoma on 5-15-2010? I am in awe to see them back together playing THEIR music. I'd love a comment from you lovesheart-what do you think?
Nice Recording..........I saw them the night before in Victoria at the Save On Food Memorial Centre and they did this exact song. When it kicked in, the whole arena went crazy.
Too much crowd noise. People need to be quiet and listen to the music. It just about ruins the concert. Talk to your friends later or at home, not while the band is playing.
Is it considered bad manners to hoot and holler during this song, esp. during the quite moments between lyrics? I've always wondered what the performers would prefer.
@boogiemaam I agree about the engery exchange. I was at a Heart show where the guy behind me was talking really loudly about everything and nothing--so loud I could hear him over the band--every once in a while he'd throw in "play These Dreams" even after they played it. That was annoying and I could see that as being rude to the band. But I think general hoots and shouts of appreciation can help feed a performance. Tho' I can see your point that it's more appropriate in a song like Barracuda!
Thanks for posting this! I appreciate and enjoy all of your postings. "Mistral Wind" is my favorite Heart song and, in my judgment, their best song, along with "Love Alive." I saw them at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles last fall and they still are amazing! It was one of the best shows I have seen them put on in years.
Red V Car seems farely standard bluesy, however it grows on you the more you hear it.I'm not sure if it was WTF,or Safronias Mark that I really dug,it had a dark unushal passage that catches U off guard, and Ann just goes and goes on this rocker without any room for a breath.Remember I'm hearing the stage sound,(mostly Nance's rhythm) not to mention I had never heard the recordings,so I will reserve judgment,I suspect we have a killer classic Heart album about to drop.
You must have been close!...Thanx 4 letting us be there for this song...my absolute favorite!...They look and sound great and it just makes us all love them even more! So glad u got to hear some of the new cuts from the new cd...please please tell us how delicious it was and if it was traditional heart sounding or mabe a different twist that Mink brought to the table? I know its hard to tell from just a few songs but were you pleasently surprised or pleasently delighted?..love..love..love!
I was on stage with them all night, almost,it was perfect because we rushed the stage and there was no barracade so we all had our hands arms, and chins resting on it.Nance was directly in front of me,and I was actually able to touch her arm and gently slide down to her hand.I couldn't resist, and she was a great sport.Ann and Nance were as close to me as to Ben back there on drums.I sang along on the stuff I knew(you can actually hear me on this vid,(Sorry folks).
