  • So, your method would work for most parts of the body (Though this works especially well as t also increases the muscles in your ankle. (PS: Why are there character limits :(

  • By the way:

You said that after multiple impacts, the ankle gets stronger (or something along those lines),

that is true for all bones. A study was done were a group of people were hit 2 on there shoulder 2 times per day, for 3 weeks, and that at the end, they had a 15% increase in shoulder bone mass. (I read that in a book exploring the problems caused by space travel, but i can not find it again, so i cannot give you the reason behind it)

  • be cuz u r not conditioned

u need to stretch or condition litttle by little then progress to alot to keep strengthening

    no offence

  • cool

  • nice one skippy mate, although your're now a fat bastard, but still my favourite one ;D

  • bastard????

  • why not available in taiwan??

keep sucking the Beijing you know what!!

    was my fave

  • I take showers on the balls of my feet or on my weaker foot like I did went I broke my right foot, it works very well.

  • Favorited! Finally some1 brings facts to life, i'm sick of all these ppl saying they can jump big places n' shit, ANKLES are a big part of jumping :b

  • haha very nice tutorial but i think it could be improved if u showed us the side view of ur jumps

  • Thanks a bunch, bro! I'm glad you're not one of the n00bs who think they know all the stuff. You actually made it very logical. Thanks!

  • What is this shit. - your one true love.

  • Yeah, if you can jump far but not land precisions are useless, great stuff. I can only do up to 8 feet barely landing right 1/2 the time.

  • Parkour has improved my double pedaling on the drumkit A LOT, all about the ankles.

  • so like ok you mentioned the whole air time. How do you get higher up without sacrificing the distance?

  • This is why I say for the purpose of this exercise, only jump about 70-80% of your maximum, so you can focus more so on building proper technique. Through repetition of this, and developing the good technique, when you come to do more distance you will be able to get further, through your new developed technique =]

  • very well done !! :D

  • Nice mate, ill definatly be doing that since im always flying forward after a precision. Need me height i guess ey.

    Cheers

  • the music and everything was bang on i wil be watching allot more very very well done man !!

  • awesome i love thx becase me when i jump i fell like a rock who jump and land in 0.001 sec :> and i thx for that help :))

  • Hey thanks for the tips they help! And great vid I gave 5 stars! =D

  • Awesome tutorial man! I was training before it was even over.

  • aren't kitchen tiles the best? you can make them more accurate by precisioning onto the grouting; that's if you have it.

  • Hell yeah, kitchen shit ftw!

  • hey man do we want to jump off and to our tiptoes?? thanks for this! please respondd

  • Yep. :] This may hurt at first by the way, but your landings will become quiter and softer over time.

  • Ha. I started doing this as part of rehab after spraining my ankle pretty nasty a couple months ago. Nice to know it's a legit form of conditioning! It also helped me increase my distance by about a foot.

  • Haha, I dunno about legit, this was an idea I came up with one day that made a lot of sense, so I done it for about 3 weeks before I made this tutorial and done some research on impacts. So long as your landings get quiter over time and not always a big huge thud, it helps. But nice to know it's helping you out. :]

  • awesome video very well explained cool !

  • ur awesome :) !!

  • haha thanks a lot, you're mroe awesome =D

  • We didn't see your head because your a fricking frog :)

  • Either that or I'm headless :]

  • Thanks so much, your tutorials rock!

  • You're awesome! This was very informative and helps a lot. Greatly appreciated.

An odd thing: for years, up until recently I had the name Skippy stuck to me like glue, annoyed the hell out of my when people made kangaroo jokes, I sure hope you don't get that shit haha.

    Have a good one mate!

  • Haha wow, I just saw the name skippy then and was like whatttt what a cool guy. Thanks for the comment bro =]

  • yeah man i wanna thank you so much i saw this ages ago and recently tried it after an ankle tweek and this not only heeled it but made it stronger as it was meant to lol thanks man your genius could i also get the song name please? safe

  • What is parkour? I'm a dancer and was looking for excercises to srenthen my ankles.

  • Parkour is the art of movement... look at this (it's a professional video, you don't start jumping from a 20 floors building!) youtube dot com/watch?v=cBapQdXxGKg

  • :/ ur meant to bend your knee TO asborb inpact! not NOT bend your knees!....not that i do parkour....but i dance....and i have been told not bending your knees when you jump will lead to future problems. also i think its silly that u jump on the ball of your foot...wont that lead to future problems cos you're not using your whole foot

  • Well, being that your a dancer and this is based on parkour, it could be causing some confusion. This is for precisions where theres not much of a hard landing if done correctly, so theres no need to crouch down really far.

  • The tutorial says to bend your knees no more than 45 degrees, not to bend them none at all

  • good stuff

  • Skippy, this is an awesome idea man. I'm doing it! Thank YOU!

  • nice man

  • been doin parkour 5month now and i recked my knee by landin like tht it recovering now but i can hurt by lnadin with kness to bent to i started praticing like this and its totaly rite

  • You're just doing saut de precision, without touching your ankles.

And try to do a huge precision without flexing your knees, THAT will cause you future problems. When you bend your knees its too absorb impact.

Like when you doing a landing, you absorb impact bending your knees, if you dont bend you gonna feel so much pain when you jump from high heights...

    This video sucks...

  • If you bend your knees too much, the impact goes straight to your knees rather then your muscles. Your muscles are what you want to absorb impact, NOT your knees. Bending your knees more than 45 degrees unless you're going into a role DOES fuck up your knee cartilage, thats a fact.

  • wow i didnt know you could realy mess up your body just by jumping :0 i just started doing parkour i can jump fences roll im working on wallflips but im going to start doing this exersise

  • hey i was just doing this then today i went out and did a rail 2 rail and nailed it perfectly normally i always fall but after doing these for about 3 weeks im really good now.

  • I'd advise you if you start parkour, you don't start with drops right away. Keep wearing your ankle supports, and search on youtube for Dogens Titanium Ankles tutorial, if you do his exercises for about 4 weeks before you start parkour and keep on doing them when you start, you should be fine.

  • ...continued from previous comment.

I'm gonna start training right after I talk to my doctor about my joints, cause they've been hurting alot lately. This could come in very handy for my training. I don't want to be like the people who start out too fast and hurt themselves severely and/or permanently, though it is tempting to do things I know I shouldn't.

  • I advise you then NOT to start off with 30 a night, start off with about 10 a night and build up 5 more each week. Also, go to dogentricks dot com (replace 'dot' with .) , go on video tutorials, and download the tutorial called 'Titanium Ankles'. Consult your doctor though, you may have pattellar tendonitits developing.

  • Thanks.

  • Thanks man. Today was my last day of school, and I've been planning for about a month now to start training in Parkour over the summer, but I don't think my ankles, among other things are strong enough.

    continued in next comment...

  • Doing them barefoot I find is really good for strengthening ankles...also running barefoot

  • Nice Job skippy your tutorials help a lot!

  • Thanks alot mate, I forgot to say, if your ankles arent already slightly conditioned from parkour, it can help if you start off at about 10 jumps instead of 30, and build up by adding like 5 extra jumps each week until you reach 30. Thanks for the comment dude, I've noticed youve checked out quite a few of my videos, you're like one of my favourite little dudes =]

  • sug min salta

  • That's good :)

  • thanks! im just learning so im trying to get all the tuturials i can get...

  • I have plenty ;)

  • Nice tut, what was the song?

  • good tutorial, thanks again skippy

  • anytime bud

  • When your doing a Precision from railing to railing, do you want to land on your toes or in the curve or the the foot.

  • whatever feels more comfortable to you at the time, I find landing on toes easier to 'stick' precisions though

  • thanks skippy I'll try it. I've always been going straight out. Thanks :)

  • anytime buddy =]

  • thanks, i'll start doin that. :)

would jumping from my bed to the open door be alright? (the floor is laminate wood)its not a bunk bed lol so no worries

  • flat floor would be nicer :P but go crazy man

  • Oh, Skip! You're the best :).

  • obviously =P

  • good stuff

  • Good dude, I can't really practice precisions in my house but when I do I use jump from one side of my bed to the other.

  • For the conditioning purposes, if you have a smooth stone surface anywhere that will do, a road =]

  • okies
