ok so whats the best camera for green screen, not a single SLR supports 4:2:2, some hacked may export 1080p via hdmi but that was still made for viewing only, i find older canon x1 x2s but its the same situation where you need to record out incase the tape deck dies, they are a pain too, any advise appreciated mr finalcutking/queen :)

Zach, for those of us who a looking to by a DSLR, or have a DSLR, could you tell us what glass you use? Lenses are obviously very expensive and very important so it would be good if you could let us know what you use for different situations and what you use the most. For instance I would say a 50mm 1.8 for close ups, for depth of field e.t.c but what about for action shots, running, shooting e.t.c. Cheers.

@CaP17A for skating, get a VX2100 (since that's on your list). I would recommend a VX1 (which is what i have) but they don't make them anymore and i use mine STRICTLY for skating.

@sargasm69 depends on budget. The panasonic lumix GH2 is a superior camera to 5D for film making as the vid part of the camera is not an afterthought

I own a 5D I use for TV production, and the GH2s are superior. Don't get taken in by this great DOF bullshit of the 5D. It's too shallow sometimes & a focus pullers nightmare

The GH2 has little or no moire or  running issue the DSLRs have. comes with 14-140 zoom, the equal of 25=280mm in 35mm or close to it also cheaper than 5D to purchase
