I remember David Gahan of Depeche Mode saying that The Colour of Spring was his favourite album of the 80s - it's not difficult to see why really, is it?
Talk Talk was a great band in the 80's, brings back a lot of memories. I like this sone but I don't think I ever heard it before. I think it's a good song but it's also my birthday, how cool!
For various reasons this song means a lot to me. I first heard it on a Walkman. I was on a train. The train was going through a south London station. I'd just left a job. The train carriage was empty. It was afternoon. I was looking out the window. In a week I would leave for America to see a girlfriend. I was 19. I was so in love with the world. Still am. Love this.
One of my favourate songs EVER recorded! A strange feeling of being suspended in air in a peaceful state. It lifts me up everytime I listen to it, usually four or five times in a row. Years and years ahead of its time. One day everybody will appreciate this music and the work of TALK TALK.
This is my first re visit to Talk Talk for many years. I am blown away by how amazing they still sound! I still only own this on tape!! I know what I want for Xmas.
Swayed without doubt by the fact that April 5th was and is my mothers birthday..just a beautiful piece of music and lyric. Life can throw up some sweet coincidence..
True. Though I would've phrased it: "This comes from one of the best albums of ALL TIME" or even better: "This comes from an album so magnificently pure & intense it can't accurately be labelled an album, than one of the greatest works of PURE ART in the history of mankind...."
Just don,t than, after 5 min MTV I,ve had it, ever thought that would happen to me but here I am,mostly liking music from myearly and late teens;-) btw, does MTV ever play music? what a load of crap on anyway
Colour of Spring and Spirit of Eden... master pieces. April 5th is one of the bridges between the albums and it doesn't get better. Sheer beauty and brilliance. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This album keeps getting better and better with age ..... I hate to sound like my dad , but - "They don't make em like they used too" - a timeless masterpice for sure !!
i do sound like my dad !, but the music in the 80,s was red hot and loads slipped under the radar as the really big stadium bands took over ..... good to see them all back on the circuit , cmon mark crank it up one more time
I'd like to say it doesn't get much better than this, but I already posted that comment for 'It's Getting Late In The Evening'. Talk Talk and Mark Hollis made too much good music to single one track out as the best. That said, Spirit Of Eden would be my choice if I could only have one CD album.

Best song on this album. Already pointing toward Spirit of Eden and Laughing Stock as early as 1986. Impressive.
