this is the first album i owned on tape and i listend to it constantly on my personal tape player throug my big ear phones until my big bro stole it from me for a party he was going to after a rave, years later i got it on cd and he stole that too fink ill buy it again coz i love it makes me feel like tony the tiger gr8888t.
to all those seeing em in the summer- it CANT and WONT be the same, they just makin a fast buck outta you,and youv totally bought into this SECOND COMING bollox, once upon a time they were the greatest, dont be suprised if they headline glastonbury-FUCKINJ SELLOUTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@oldskoolraver1974 probably right but they got so messed around with record companies I don't begrudge them making a few quid. First bit of musical output from them was amazing, including this album, and will never be forgotten. Most of what came next was a bit ... ordinary. I would prefer to see a new and interesting band than this once great band reforming but good luck to them anyway...
@MrHarvey1968 agreed,i just think they shudv left it where it was,the roses, among many others were an integral part of my formative years, and i was just venting my anger at what seems to be a lot of old albeit brilliant bands reforming for a big payday(and i was a bit tipsy when i posted, lol),read recently, with some dismay, the happy mondays are reforming,i think i just want to remember these bands as they were;-)
I was living in Manchester at the time of the Spike Island gig. All my mates went and I was doing something else. Something I very much regret. Going to go to Heaton park though, only 20 years late!
Yes great music and i dunno what that @garude91 is on about. First solo where you play the drums and guitar at same time. Cannot wait to see them again
This is music that makes us proud to be british, the best thing to come from the 80's and it prooves by how well we still remember them, that's a sign of a great band, with shows like x factor the winners would be famous for a while but then gone, forgotten. it's cause they have no depth like band such as the beatles and the stone roses
@gurudev91 Linkin Park?? dude, if squire tried to play like someone else then it wouldnt be the stone roses we'd be listening to, that's what makes stone roses so special is the fact their unique, and one of the original mad-chester bands
@gurudev91 What's it feel like, making a complete laughing stock out of yourself? What an ass. It's not even a 'solo'. Ha! What, are you twelve or something?
love this tune. dated i horrible waste of space a few years ago, this song is sooooooooooooooooo perfect. happily married, waster still single and bouncing around...................

It reminds me of being 17 years old when I intensely listened to this masterpiece. The Stone Roses's debut album is the finest album of the eighties!
