  • Sigh, sooooo cool. I wish my computer could run crysis :(

  • oh goodie I can take my classic 10 largr las daishi.. one shot one kill config :-)

  • So being that its now 2011 does all of this still apply?

  • Awesome, they should've had that in mecharrior 4 to begin with.

  • @KodyFurlong they did, the OMNI mechs..

  • i will buy crysis just for this mod and not even touch the oiriginal game xD

  • @adamant356 Crysis is actually pretty fun, if you like stealth style games.

  • When is this coming out?

  • I cant effing wait!

If the mod goes dead / ditched.

You should make a donta button.

Just so you guys can keep making this mod.

Id totally give some cash for this masterpiece!

  • In the finished mod, will there be a single player campaign with a mechlab?

  • When is it gonna be ready? ):

  • very glad I saw this video,

I had heard you couldn't alter mechs....

    ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

    yyyyyeeeeeesssssssss

good ol' "face of death" will have to do haha

  • please tell me you have my Victor.

  • i like the idea to change weaponpods i always like do edit mechs and do experiments for good looking and powerfull mechs or to edit mechs for a fitting use

i only have a question is it posible to change the look of legs torso arm e.t.c. ?

or are those fix by mechtypes like you´ve shown in the clip?

  • Now thats cool!

  • mmmmh,... yellow balls :)

  • I like the current implementation, I think having to purchase whole loadouts would slow things down too much and present too many options to new players.

  • Even if I see the logic in the fact that you in a real world probably would be able to change the outfit I feel this takes away defined roles of the mechs. The catapult is as far as I know tought to be a long range support/artillery mech, and so on. This kinda ruins this. A way to compensate would be different sensors and targeting systems, where the catapult should have a way of making presice LR direct and indirect strikes, but have difficulties targeting enemies close by with the missiles.

  • mw was alwais a bit about customization.. it is true that they may be going realy far in this but imo that is a cool feature, if you want ur catapult to be a range support u can do so but if i want it to be a melee bad ass i can too. that being said, i hope there will be something to make me want to use a catapult as range support mech

  • when can we expect this. MWLL is almost nothing without being able to refit your mechs

  • oh get the fuck out dumbass... they have permission from microsoft to do this and have for a very long time.

and btw you wanna know why they dont just explode when they leave? ITS CALLED A FUCKING VIDEO GAME!

PS- why bother? go play your jumpsnipe fest mechwarrior 4 if this mod doesnt appeal to you.

  • I have mixed feeling about the weapon pods. The arm pods i like as it would make sence to change the weapon mounts according to their sizes. What i dont like is the hardmount pods, i dont believe the options should be as limited as they are portrayed in this video, nor do i like the ugly pods podtruding out of the front of the Catapult, surely different weapons can be placed inside the structure instead of outside, thereby avoiding spoiling the Catapult's esthetic design.

  • It is completly replaced already. This is just a really old video

  • I KNOW!!!

  • I'll buy Crysis just for this mod.

  • I already did lol

  • Same here

  • @Ejoot i am lol...

  • @Ejoot That's exactly what I did.

  • ok first off, this is too much like as some said it 'chrome hounds'. in the BT universe and the MW games, certain mechs are limited to mount weapons. the Catapult is slotted to only mount missiles and lasers. It was redesigned later to mount guns after wards due to omni-mech tech. Clan mechs have omni mounts, so the pods work for them ONLY, IS mechs that are pre-dated 3050 do not have these slots therefore any mech predating 3050 should not have the pods. Make it right at least.

  • Not true. Most Catapults are fitted with missile pods, but some models also come with mounts for PPCs instead of the twin LRM15's. Also, during the second stage of the clan invasion, the IS began making conversion kits to allow their battlemechs to be brought up to the level of the Clan mechs. Besides this, you can always switch out weapons for others with older models, it just took recreating the entire portion of the battlemech.

  • But all those moddings were still on the drawing board. It wasnt until the Lyrans captured a few Clan mechs on sheer luck that they were able to put those systems online. The reason why most IS mech were not able to take down clan mechs were because it took too long to rework FCS to accept the weapons. Also the Catapult primary config was LRM 20's with 3 med lasers. Like i said most mechs pre date 3050 are harder to mod then those post 3050.

  • It's harder to modify them, yes, but it is completely within the realm of possibility. Otherwise 'mechs like Yen-Lo-Wong could not have had the upgraded autocannon. Also, the reason IS 'mechs couldn't cut it against most omnimechs was the fact that the clans had superior range, firepower, armor, heat efficiency, and their 'mechs were faster than the IS ones. The clanner's main advantage was not their omnimech technology, but their weapons and upgraded XL fusion engines.

  • True, but the Omni did give the Clans a huge advantage along with the upgrades you said. the Yen-Lo-Wong and many other mechs were had to be reconfigured and retooled. I never said it was out of the realm of possibility but the logistics of modding a pre 3050 IS mech was not worth it and had a longer down time to those mechs built after 3050.

  • True, true. But you also have to look at it from a gameplay standpoint. If you're stuck with just the base models of every battlemech ever fielded, things would likely get old quickly. Plus, many people's favorite 'mechs might possibly have poor weapons. Besides, it's not like they're using the switch weapon option during the middle of a match.

  • Even in a game standpoint you were somewhat limited so anyway, the modding of older mechs should come with a penalty. Back in MW3 when putting on Clan FF armor it took up hardpoints. so changing the structure hard points should come with a decrease in hardpoints for older mechs

  • Very true. Makes me a little nostalgic for Mechwarrior 3... the last game to come close to following the actual battletech universe.

  • I think a little bit more realism might be better here. There is absolutely no reason to put penalties on a mech if you can pay for some hardware changes and it's still with in the load limit of the legs. You're complaining over nothing.

  • i want this when it comes out

  • lol "chrome hounds" my ass, if this looks like chrome hounds it's cause chrome hounds used a concept so close to being straight out of the BT book that yeah, obviously, it looks exactly like a modern mechwarrior game. shocking, rite?

  • Nice. This is going to be everything Mechwarrior 5 should have been.

  • except the pod mounts for IS mechs from 3050 and older. all the newer IS mechs have Omni hardpoints in some areas so the pod tech works, same goes with clan mechs.

  • hours and hours of customizing weapons, electronics and tweaking FF armor and endo steel!

  • Very impressive work. I am looking forward to MWLL's release.

  • I like the idea, but no how is look :S

  • but chrome hounds isn't as fun

  • your right, chrome hounds takes its self to seriously. awful high and mighty for a first in series game.

  • i just think that this genre is better further in the future

  • just though that i'd throw it out there

    but

did you ever notice how in Chromehounds the ballistics were all messed up?

and how the rockets and howies fly straight for awhile, and then just suddenly drop almost straight down?

I hope they change that in this game...

  • Keep up the great work, will be checking it out when it's released for sure!

  • Kodiak looks AAWWEESSOOMMEEEE!!!

  • I am very pumped for this mod. I grew up playing MW3. I hope that the Mechs in this mod will act more like the MW3 Mechs because they felt more real than the ones in MW4. They had weight and felt huge and powerful. I hope that the creators will match that feeling in this awesome looking mod.

  • You make me get crysis just to wait for that :3

  • Theres a brand new mech based mmorpg being developed by a unknown gaming company. iam so excited

  • WOWOWOWOWOWOW THIS IS AWESOME!

  • This is looking VERY good. It should fill the mech genre void very nicely. I played MW 4 regularly, but by the early 2000s the engine was obsolete. Jump sniping was getting old too (I played in the brawler servers at the end.)

Hopefully the physics will be more realistic. A gauss slug, traveling at near-relativistic velocity, only having a range of 800 meters is laughable. The same goes for lasers; a multi-megajoule laser discharge *stops* at 800 meters. What about range diffusion?

  • .............Im in love with this game

  • very very nice, when its done? ^^

  • WOW. WOW. WOW. WOW.Oh Wow. That is awesome. wens it coming out?

  • You guys should definetly incorporate some more of the original battletech stuff... And maybe some destructible armor similar to starsiege, which was no doubt inspired by battletech

  • Oh, bring the old MechLab fully back to life? Like the engine size, Endo-Steel and Ferro-Fibrous armor, Jump Jets, MASC, CASE, Clan/IS system variants, and all that other great stuff?

  • I bet this will be coming later on after the release. This looks to be really deep!

  • Hope so. This game, I hope, will bring the best out of MechWarriors 2, 3, and 4.

This is still under development, we just have to be patient. Although you can't ask for all of the things made favorite in the classic games yet. (I wish we had wireframe optics, but because of how they're implemented in Mech2, they have to be REALLY expensive if purchasable. They're not planning on it yet).

  • It would be awesome that if the mechwarrior breaks apart, you can get out and use the mouted weapons to pwn others unless you can only play mechwarriors in this mod..

  • Did you just watch Robojox?

  • One thing I would like to see, if they take suggestions from Youtube comment boards (prob others have said it before), is to see physical fusion core explosions like the ones in MechAssault 2 if the mech overheats or if you crack the engine when you blow the mech up.

  • Core explosions are quite powerful actually. They're strong enough to kill battle armor within a certain range and seriously damage vehicles and Mechs.

  • @MechLivingLegends which is ironic cause the tabletop rulebook; Total Warfare completely dispels fusion-reactor explosions :| I always thought it was dumb too, punishing the player for killing at point-blank? wheres the fun in that?

  • I will buy Crysis just to play this game! FINALLY A mech game that is true to the franchise, both physically and visually.

  • I like what you are doing, but have you looked into the legal side of this?

You have an awful lot of copyrighted material in this project (in terms of the mech designs). Do you have permission to use it?

  • Many mods use "copyrighted" material, but most of them are ignored by their owners because the mods are free, and thus aren't "stealing" any money from them. However, if the owner of these IP's decide to make a game with similar game mechanics or content, they may demand that the development of the mod to stop. But seeing as how there hasn't been a Mechwarrior game in 6 years...you get the point.

  • We have clearance from the IP owner for far more than a year already.

  • Awesome! :)

  • In writing I hope. If you don't have it in writing then can I suggest you get it.

  • Man, everyone of these videos and the concepts described in this game are unspeakably wicked.

I cant wait until the final production hits the assembly line. Keep it up fellas, it keeps looking cooler.

  • Great work!

  • StarTrekmanrulz

fuck you do it you self then do it better

  • is this being developed in crysis system?

  • Please, God, say they have the Marauder in this

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

  • thats awesome... hope you guys finish soon

  • Is there going to be 'mech pack' expansions? While you are offering a great lineup of mechs there are countless others out there. This game looks great and i tip my hat to you.

    Cheers

  • holy shit holy shit holy shit holy shit!

    omg, i cant wait!!!!

  • and those mechs seem tiny.

  • weapon pods? those mechs look damn crazy. i was hoping this mod would be going in a more cbt direction.

  • thx for the info ^^

  • Pod on the Timberwolf II are what I like the most, I never found it's rocket pods useful on a sniping mech (though they worked for infighter with SSRMs).

  • I NEED this mod to complete me.

  • AWESOME! I think the hard mounts and the option for modular weapon pods is not only a good idea, but a realistic one. In real life, they would throw on whatever worked onto a mech.

  • I need to play this so bad! Come guys I don't want you to rush it and make mistakes or miss any thing out but can you hurry up coz im dying here lol.

  • Yeah, it does look a little wierd with rocket pods.

  • no i meant that the arms are WAY to far back

  • The arms are supposed to be that far back. I have two miniatures of two different molds that have it that far back.

  • i like the old adder better not that dark age crap

  • My Adder miniatures are of the Classic BattleTech variety. Heavy pewter, glue together, paint them yourself types. Cool your jets for the gods' sakes.

  • That's the Adder A variant which is supposed to carry twin LRM 20s.

  • Don't sweat it too hard. The PUMA can be whipped easily by a Solitare, Wolfhound, or Uller.

  • @StarTrekmanrulz

I'd like to see you to do better...

    Great job guys =)

  • @StarTrekmanrulz

And... Do it yourself if your not satisfied with the standard of this.

  • lol your a tool startrek guy lol your name alone says it all.

  • Very well done video. Can't wait for the mod!

  • One of the best systems I've seen for 'Mech customization so far. Nice work!

  • Lookin' sexy, guys.
