  • I think Mathers' translation took in mind that the orignal names of spirits seemed to have been borrowed from Agrippa, but I agree he was hopelessly inaccurate at reading hebrew. Some of his stuff is a joke. I give a thumbs up to Peterson's. Haven't read Rankins.

    Yea Petersons edition is great but perhaps not the best when it comes to keeping as close to the original texts as possible. Well it is an original but an interpretation made by Sibley and Hockley if you know what I mean? You do need to buy Rankines and Skinners though.
