  • I always expect to hear 'One day' straight after that!

  • another beautiful kwpk&p effort thanks for the upload oh yeah there isn't a love button on the rating thingy

  • steve id like a concert i canberra where i live

  • steve played this song live at the northcote social club, 02.09.10 - he was taking requests and similataniously myself and another fan unknown to me called out "fly" - then i found $20 on the floor after the gig

  • seen this the best of all australian bands about a dozen times growing up. the playroom on the goldcoast anyone??

  • Chevron ? Cremorne ? Me too.

  • I've even got a job at the chevron as a bartender.

Blew away some of my good impressions of other artists as they come for a drink and a chat before the gig.

Thus, Chevron brings back many good memories. All the best. At least Nick Cave still produces the class.

  • Imdavorg, you're nuts. The Church are still making absolutely fantastic music. What's'sad is that you're apparently clueless to that.

  • Gosh, I'm trawling thru the vids looking around at all the bands that I used to follow in Sydney.

These guys were fantastic. I used to see them live in small places. Many tmes at the Chevron (first floor of a hotel).

I used to stand right under Steve Kilbey's nose many a time. The critisism was always that they didn't move, too rigid. Who cares, for me it was the music! Miss this stuff.

Sadly they are not the same.

  • ImdaVorg, I agree with you. Their music has always been surreal, otherworldly, abstract, sort of sad and beautiful. But the older music had a lightness of being to it, up to the Starfish album. After that, most of the albums got noticeably darker and depressed. There are always exceptions of course. But in general, older Church beats new Church imho.

I agree, up to Starfish the pop in the music was still there, but then it dried up. I bought Priest= Aura at a time nobody could care less about the Church, 80s has beens, in the bright new Cold War over, dance, techno, grunge-world. I was spooked and entranced with it in my own little world. You can imagine, but don't!! haha

  • Love the three note guitar riff at 0:05. Pure The Church 80s classic sound!

  • Tengo todos los discos de The Church. Me ayudan cuando estoy triste y me ayudan cuando estoy alegre. GRACIAS

  • djnross is totally correct

  • Absolutely amazing - the church are incredible 20 plus years later, I agree. You just don't get this sound or feeling any more do you?

  • Most mystical band in history.

  • Seance is so fucking good.....20+ years later.....

  • I know the woman in this video.

  • What is her name?

    Is an actress?

  • Her name is Vicki Madden. She's not an actress.

  • To this day, I still think this song is incredible! I remember laying in my room listening to Seance late at night during high school...this song is one of my all time favorites!!! This song creates a lonely, "escaping" mood!

  • great stuff.

  • Love the tits! Anyway Seance was my first LP from The Church. I remembered playing this over and over again during the summer of 1983. I was tripping throughout the album like i was on drugs! Wild....eh??

  • what- a-friggin'-BAND!!saw them live in Norfolk,VA shortly after the 'Starfish' release.Unforgettable.Along with Echo& the Bunnymen,Loop,U2,and Talk Talk, they made the Eighties a tolerable decade.

  • Very styled vid(evoke early The Cure or Psychedelic Furs),but my best-loved tune is from previous album track To be in your eyes!

  • Great band. Saw them in 1985 @ the Moonshadow (no longer there) in Atlanta, GA. Super nice guys, met them after the show.

  • Heydey is great, but you've got 20 yrs of Church material to catch up on ! Get out there and listen... Saw them on '85, and most years since, most recently April 2007 on the Magnetic strip tour, better than ever...

  • great trippy song...heyday is the best still though
