  • I've eaten pretty basic food all my life. In the 80's many people used the term 'health food' in describing the food I ate. I always found it confusing... all I was eating was plain food; root vegetables, meats, dairy (organic when I can get it), salads...

I've also been a lifelong butter user, and Pollan's book was the first thing I ever read that finally gave me the verbal ammunition to fight against margarine eaters. Like he says... if it doesn't go bad, don't eat it.

  • well one thing........eliminate fructose .....corn sugar. it sweetens your coca cola but one scientist calls it a poison........read more about this sugar made from corn.(cheap and sweeter alternative to cane sugar)

  • like Paul Chek says, there is no such thing as junk food; There is food and there is non-food

  • Great video!

    Go vegan!!!

  • no...

  • No. Eat meat, vegetables, nuts, seeds, some fruit, and no sugar. Eat what our DNA has been programed to for the last few million years.

  • Did George say 'supposably'? What an idiot...

  • michael pollan is great...thought the guy interviewing him was kind of annoying though

  • he does a great presentation. i can't find it right now, but i know it's in the TEDtalksdirector Channel. Very enlightening without the distraction of angst from the interviewer.

  • Love his books. Great vid, thanks for posting! :)

  • wrong. leave out a twinkie and see how long it takes for it to grow any mold.

  • no, he wants to believe that in depth scientific analysis of food and nutrition is very incomplete, and he is right based on his reading of all germane peer reviewed literature

get that all, little boy. keep eating your mcdonald's kid

  • It's more of an appeal to listen to common sense.

We have the food traditions that have been handed down through many generations, traditions with which we have evolved along side. These traditions include neither the fast-food burger from McDonald's nor the perfectly good food which is then broken down and rebuilt to be "fortified" with nutrients.

The truth is: it doesn't take a scientist to tell us how to eat right. But, it might take a journalist to remind us of that truth.

  • @LunaGer Is that on the back of the book? Because it would sell.

  • nice interview

  • nice interview
