And the games are meaningless because the villains cheat. Paul's 4th wall breaking is a part of that. It breaks the horror movie rules, and ends in a way to further dissatisfy. A smart film.

You know, I think I've got the idea of the movie. When they ask "Why are you doing this?" They never ansrew, they just make up a story and joke about it. I the movie, one of the boys keeps looking in to the camera, talking to the audience and he even picks up the remote control and rewinds the film. In the end the two attacking boys discuss about the "real world" and knowing about being in the "un-real world". So the reason why they do this: THEY KNOW THEIR IN A MOVIE!
