I like Thailand, which should have been renamed Tailand, for we are from Tai race, or Tailaos, or USEA, United of South East Asia. That comprises of Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapre, Philippines, Vietnam and all of South East Asia Countries. USEA - the power to be reckoned with....??? - A man dreamed and it's come true.

I'm Thai and I don't think that all Thai look down on Lao people. It's a matter of individual more than just THAI PEOPLE. For me, I don't feel the different as we speak almost the same language, eat almost the same foods and share the same culture.

The most important thing I want to say here is that your comment should be more constructive otherwise it will only give bad attitude to each other which is not helping on anything at all. Love & hate is very natural and we can develop them.

Once I visited Burma: Language problem. Twice in Vietnam: language problem. Once in Cambodge (border) from the sea:language problem. Once in the most southern part of Thailand: I talk better to local people than Thai BKK. In Xieng-rai, always in Lao, in Khon-kaen, only in hotel, but market 100% Lao. Even, sometimes, I speak Thai BKK, local people (Khon-Kaen) look on me in different way! The I-shan are Xieng-mieng.

(What means Mieng? I am afraid that Mieng = Mien of the Yao).

I don't think Khon Thai siam love Khon lao. Mostly, they look down lao people. For those of you ( Pourk I Thai Dark Lie ) who look down lao people, I got three words for you " Koad Pau Koad Mai Sue"
