There were certain songs on the tour she NEVER sang live ... no matter what city she was in. Express Yourself for for one ... was ALWAYSSSS lipped !! Imposible to sing while prancing around stage the way she did during that tour. It's still her best SHOW ever !! Even is she lipped a lot of it !!!! Madonna has never been about a voice anyway .... more like a fine tuned spectacle ... thats what makes her amazing ... so who cares if she is live or not !!

I love how you can really distinguish Donna and Niki's voice. Hearing Donna De Lory's voice in her own material is quite mellow, but she's always quite powerful with Madonna, doing the higher harmony, especially in this example, where it's all chest voice.

I love this video: the raw vocals, the attempt to blend real with memorex... the obvious commitment to perfection of performance (for the fans). How can you not respect that. As far as I'm concerned, this is brilliant. It has always pissed me off how this song and others like Where's the Party were lip-synched on most of the Blond Ambition Tour, and it's these versions that are always shown on TV or in archive footage, even in the Truth or Dare/In Bed movie it was these mimed clips that were passed as 'live' I've always been a huge fan and would much rather hear her real voice, however shit it is, than just have her dance to the original vocals. Live means singing!

Yes it is the LIKE A VIRGIN costume!! This footage was shot very early on during rehearsals at the Walt Disney studios in Burbank. Which is where all Blond Ambition rehearsal took place. She was still in the process of deciding which outfits looked best for what song. The show itself was still coming together.. you can also see in the beginning of this rehearsal she is NOT elevated on to the top of the stage. That's how raw this rehearsal is.

For all of those who don't know, she was sick during the Blond Ambition tour, thats why she sounds so awful. Im not sure when this rehersal was done, but from the sound of it, it must've been in Europe, at the peak of her illness, she actually sang EY live in most of her earlier shows in Japan and the US, (Dallas is a good example, that concert kicks some serious ass!) But by the time she got to the East Coast she had to lipsynched and eventually cancelled some shows because she was so sick.
