Dreamheaves, if Cobb and Evans are the names that come to mind when you think of great musical interpreters, then you need to get out more. Yes, they are both quite good, but ordinary in the wider world.
(continued) He is one of the best interpreters of music, besides Stephen Cobb, of course. So if you're going to be critical, either back up your opinion or shut it!!!
fluffmuff1812, if you even KNEW the song and saw the score, you would see that this is played faster than it is written for. Machineandsoul, the main theme is supposed to be double tonged the whole time. so your band must suck beyond reason, or you just played it rediculously slow. in other terms, Bach would be shocked, appalled, and mostly disappointed. plus, if you have ever met Howard Evans(the bandmaster of this band)you would know that he his one of the greatest interpreters of music.
I just don't like this... Its bad played! But I loved the last note from trumpet! I like to do that to..

This is actually quite bad... unbelievably bad for a band of this stature.

I agree this sounds like the Ray Farr arrangement, we always double tongued the main theme the second time round as it sounded so great.

I'm in a band that is playing this, and it is definitely the Farr arrangement.

In my humble opinion this song is played way too fast. The band band plays in about 172 bpm.
When I played it at a summer course we played it in about 145 bpm, quite different but hot damn, it rocked HARD!

PaGriWo it's not a song! But I agree it is a little too fast.
