  • Dreamheaves, if Cobb and Evans are the names that come to mind when you think of great musical interpreters, then you need to get out more. Yes, they are both quite good, but ordinary in the wider world.

  • This is actually quite bad... unbelievably bad for a band of this stature.

  • brilliant piece i can play all of this anyday :) :) :) baritone player :)

  • Definitely the Farr arrangement. Brilliant arrangement, brilliant piece, brilliant playing. =D

  • amazing... great sop note at the end :D

  • it's quite funny when we play this we turn the 1 bar drum solo into a complete drum solo, as in like never ending!

    lol

iyt makes the piece soooo much better trust!

    lol

    great playing!

  • one of the best pieces for brass band EVER. Can't quite play it, but LOVE IT. thanks for posting x

  • its legend im playing it tomoro for the drogheda brass band

  • cant say i like the "camera positions" i think it should be normal but cracking piece of music

  • (continued) He is one of the best interpreters of music, besides Stephen Cobb, of course. So if you're going to be critical, either back up your opinion or shut it!!!

  • fluffmuff1812, if you even KNEW the song and saw the score, you would see that this is played faster than it is written for. Machineandsoul, the main theme is supposed to be double tonged the whole time. so your band must suck beyond reason, or you just played it rediculously slow. in other terms, Bach would be shocked, appalled, and mostly disappointed. plus, if you have ever met Howard Evans(the bandmaster of this band)you would know that he his one of the greatest interpreters of music.

  • awesome!

  • i love the sound your band make its amazing

    !!

  • this so upbeat

  • I agree this sounds like the Ray Farr arrangement, we always double tongued the main theme the second time round as it sounded so great.

  • I'm in a band that is playing this, and it is definitely the Farr arrangement.

  • I think it sounds better faster

  • I think this is the Ray Farr arrangement...

  • In my humble opinion this song is played way too fast. The band band plays in about 172 bpm.

When I played it at a summer course we played it in about 145 bpm, quite different but hot damn, it rocked HARD!

  • PaGriWo it's not a song! But I agree it is a little too fast.

  • Of course, my bad!

  • Great arrangement. Who was it??? I've heard a version like this arranged by Ray Farr anyway...

  • Great....

  • i play in a brass band and in my opinion the timing at the start was...how do you say it in musical terms?? ..... wonky

  • I played it with black dyke mills band and it is nearly the same. well done!! 5 stars

  • dude i did this @ star lake last year it rock out loud

  • we played this once............ didn't sound like that though =P
