I can't believe you first of all drove it like that, but then pulled it with a rope! Mind you I'm sure I did the same thing in the early days with Ro80's. Those Rotor wheels are worth your 50 euros alone! This RX7 could have just gone straight in the crusher like many others, at least it was found by someone who can make use of it :-)

i also have a 1981 mazda rx7 that no one loved for 16 years, the body is still in great condition( a little bit of rust on the rocker panels but thats about it) I poured some ATF into the carb with some new gas, and it fired right up, still the original 12A, and its done 125,500 kms

the decision to keep the engine and loose the body was a good decision. Rust-X 7's aren't fun. I LOVE those wheels. DON'T GET RID OF THOSE. REFERB them if possible.

Im sorry mate but i must say this. I literally cried when i seen that engine start up. No homo or anything, But when you see a legendary car like that go from sitting to running again after 16 years it really touches any true rotary lovers soul. It makes me think of a child that is taking its first breath, you dont know what to say afterward but you know that child is alive. The body wasnt saveable, but the engine still lives on. Congrats and I hope that you have many fun days with that car mate
