Put some rubber bungee cable around it and try recording inside to minimise the background noise of wind. Plus inside rooms have a beter resonance, too.

i don't think that the propane tank drum sounds worse than the real hung drum. the sound is different but i like it. now it might sound allot different if it wasn't recorded with better sound quality.
To him it probably sounds great, just the poopy mic holding it back. But yeah, the bungee cords would definitely help. I'd love to make one of these, but I don't have a spare tank or a jig..

yeah. it's not the drum. the drum is awesome and sounds great, it's my camera quality, you can check out all of my other vids and they have the same annoying scratchy feeling in all of them. so yeah. thanks for the advice. i might try the bungee cord thing. peace.

sounds great dude. as far as sound quality goes, just put a few rubber bungees or a bike tire tube around the tank to eliminate that extra ring.

the bungee cord would decrease "tank ring" I noticed that in this video and its not the mic. Besides that, great job.
