  • I recently discovered Limoncello at my fav Italian restaurant (Aldos in Los Gatos CA). They make their own and one can't buy it as good as far as I'm concerned. Theirs appears milky in nature, as do many I've seen, what makes the milky appearance?

  • Finally a video with no dislikes.

  • At that point I rather buy a bottle of Vodka and add some lemon jus and sugar, seriously WHAT a WASTE of TIME.

    Anyway, good video though.

  • what did you do with the peels after? did you just throw them out?

i think it would be interesting to see how they would taste if you candied them.

  • Where did you find that nice gift bottle at the end of the video? I've been looking for those in 8oz. size.

  • dont use vodka, use only 95 % pure grain alchohol next time, it just becmes lemon vodka or vodka limon

  • One of my Italian friends gave me a recipe for the limoncello years ago, but according to her recipe, it only takes a month for the entire process.

Not only that, it also calls for some lemon tree leaves.

That's the way I have been preparing it.

Next time, I will try your recipe :-)

    Thanks for posting the video.

  • looks like pee after 40 days

  • @bubbaclubba22 Mine is at that stage now and i was a little worried about the colour so thats why i came online to make sure that i did everything right.....so really is it supposed to look like urine??

  • Great video, what is the point of the last strain? Can't you just pour directly into the bottle at the end?

  • @ronch182.. The first strain is just the peels from the alcohol mixture and then I try to save any last liquid that might still be on the peels.. so, I put the peels in another strainer and let them sit for awhile on a plate to drain any last liquid off of them... I even will press down softly on them to express any of the alcohol onto the plate.. then I add whatever was on the plate to the final mixture that is ready for bottling. Thanks for the post. (PS don't use Meyer lemons (Too sweet))

  • Thanks for the comment thekrakeism. YES.... 40 days and 40 days... True Italian limoncello takes patience...

    :)

  • wait... did I get this right? does your recipe last 80 days to prepare????

40 days infusing and 40 days "marrying"??? isn't that a bit too long?

I loved the video and the soundtrack by the way very cool presentation... regards to you and your family.... looks delicious :)
