I'm going to guess that Mr. Gilchrist was a paid speaker (which I'm sure he still received payment for even though he didn't speak). So his first amendment rights doesn't apply here. @stalag58, I generally try to avoid violence. It creates so much ill will, and people's ruffled feathers do not get smoothed out for a long time. However, I see your point. It does not mean the officers along the border should plead with suspects. They also should not try to read them bedtime stories. After all, the act of crossing without going through the proper channels is not acceptable.
Too often someone cries about all the rights of the suspects. What about the rights of citizens?

When I hear someone say we are a nation of immigrants, I remind him that immigration is supposed to be LEGAL. An applicant MUST go through the process of standing in line and waiting his turn.
Your point about the taxes makes sense. Why should we always pay for all the mess?

We do not have endless space to take in everyone. Where would all the additional money needed for housing come from? We already spend too much, and our own people have difficulty finding job stability. Enough is enough. As you already know, someone has to keep crying racism whenever a concerned citizen has questions.

It instantly didn't make sense to me because it was the Anglo-Saxons who came in boats and had their kids here. What group of people, than the ones I mentioned, better fits this term?
