  • baseball is the least diverse sport in my opinion...not by race but by skill. Football has many different positions, for many different people, QB for strong arms, Wr for good hands and speed, OL for slow strong people...but in baseball, everyone needs to throw well, catch well, and hit well.

  • that is so funny haha

  • pitcher: can i help you?

batter: no thanks, im just lookin!

  • do we have these types of toss in American baseball? I don't pay much attention to it since it makes Zzz

  • I like imanaka. He is one of the best pitchers in japan.

    I recommend 今中1991・94・98→

    今中 is pronounced `imanaka`.

  • this is why im glad i dont play in chinese world

  • it looks more likae an eephus

  • Meh it look like he twisted his wrist and lobbed it funny k tho

  • That shit was ridiculous !!!!

  • nasty!

  • somebody did that to me, I felt like such an idiot. I even whent all low like t]this guy in the batters box

  • why did japan decide to do baseball is anyone's guess ...

  • @semo2010 its because with proper application of ones self you can excel at almost anything. the japanese really know how to apply them selves

  • @therbert11 I know and I agree. But the question was, why baseball ? its such an american sport that doesn't exist in many places outside the US. its a little bit bizarre

  • @semo2010 no kidding. its better than football though.

  • @semo2010 Anyone here please correct me if I'm in error: It was brought to Japan during the post-World-War occupation by US soldiers who would often play in thier off-time....Kids took up the game, and like many things the Japanese people apply themselves at, they adopted the game in a disciplined fashion, quickly developing skill sets and athletes that could excell at the game...now it's as popular in Japan as it is in the 'States!

  • @rnv322 actually, it was brought around before Babe Ruth's time (he was pretty popular in Japan believe it or not, i believe he played a few exhibition games with japanese teams) It was introduced to Japan in 1872 by Horace Wilson, who taught at the Kaisei School in Tokyo. you can search the history of it up on wikipedia, while wikipedia is not always the best source (due to anyone being able to edit articles) there are alot of articles that are locked to only certain people, i think

  • baseball is just a sport you watch when you're chilling and drinking stuff while watching it. Its not the sorta thing that you get so engrossed with like say football or boxing ... my opinion only, although I feel like I dug my own grave saying this in a baseball youtube ..

  • holy shit how does he do that

he is a lefty which probly helps the curveball drop tho

  • If I'm not mistaken did Rip Sewell threw an eephus , and only one person got a homerun off it.

  • @Retepification Yes, and it was an illegal home run, because he was out of the batters box, but the umpires did not call it. And it was in an All-Star game

  • quit trollin'

  • that is sick!!!

  • That's awesome.

    Japanese Baseball > American Baseball

  • Actually baseball is a great sport whether you believe it or not..

Baseball requires attention, athletism, strength, speed, agility, intelligence, accuracy, and sportsmen-ship.

  • yeah cause most sports dont recquire any of those...

  • @iBlue69 and dont forget steroids

  • @iBlue69 name a sport that doesn't require all mentioned ? and bowling is not a sport so exclude that.

  • @iBlue69 Fuck you you fag

  • @iBlue69 So does hockey.

  • @iBlue69 exactly. I'm in 8th grade and I'm one of the 2-3 people that actually likes and follows baseball. It's extremely disappointing that kids don't even pay attention to what was, and still is to some people, America's pastime.

  • @xXEmerald45Xx I AGREE!!!

  • @NightZtormproduction Thank you. I guess I could see where some people think baseball is boring, but if you know the rules and everything, then it's actually interesting and fun to watch.

  • @iBlue69 i agree

  • @iBlue69 oh yes a lot of agility and athletism because throwing a ball and waiting for it to come at you and catching is very athletic.

  • @sn1p347

Hitting a 90 mile fastball is probably the most difficult things to do in sports. Compare hitting a 90 mile fast ball with any other action in sports. No chance..

  • @sn1p347 To catch an object the size of your palm while it goes 95 miles is difficult. And to try to hit at such an object at such a speed takes incredible hand eye coordination and timing.

  • i doubt u can even throw a ball past 60ft and hit a plate from the distance

  • Comment removed

  • thats called an eephus

  • No, it's not an eephus. Similar drop, but an eephus doesn't curve, it just goes straight up and drops, this curves.

  • you're right but with this guys arm and wrist action it does curve..cuz an eephus is a slow 12-6...but that's a good point this guy just can't throw a good eephus. but yeah like i said that's a good point.

  • thanks bro, glad you understand what I was saying, and either way, this is a sick pitch.

  • an eephus curves a lot man it looks like rainbow

  • Noob got pwned

  • sorry but thats more of a lob/Eephus

  • why cant that happen in the us

  • Rampage: It doesn't happen in the MLB because a pitcher like that would never even make it near the big leagues; minor league players could blast that thing out of the park. A major leaguer, even showing bunt, could just pull the bunt back and crush that. It would only be effective if you did it once or twice a game, if that.

  • those dudes are like fake Dodgers lol

  • thats even worse than the real dodgers.

    dodgers blow the cock

  • well someone gave you a negative comment. but iwas thinking the same thing as you lol

  • haha i know man the person that gave me a negative probably thinks thats the real dodgers haha

  • That's purely great.

  • lmao neeeoiyynsho

  • wow thats an Eephus

  • uhh dude thats called an ephus

  • lolol

  • yoooo watch

  • The Ninja Eephus Pitch xDDD

  • I would destroy that thing

  • Dude you probably would have ducked and closed your eyes and hoped that you at least get the bat off your shoulder

  • Um no? The ball is going like 30 MPH lmao. Even if it did hit me, it would hit me then roll down my leg haha.

  • young shoook NAAAAAAW

  • LOLOL

  • With that in mind.. is it possible that a pitcher could pitch a ball so slow a batter would NOT be able to hit it out of the park because of the lack of velocity?

  • have you ever watched the homerun derby

  • No because I can hit a ball about 350 off a tee and I am no major leaguer. The only way to possibly do this is roll the ball across the plate, or if physics was not possible the ball would need to reverse its direction and head back towards the pitcher, and some of those guys could probably still hit that out of the park.

  • no its not possible when your dealing to pujols and arod and howard ect slow pitch softball has a limit of ten homers a game and even though the bats are metal the ball is massive and doesnt travel as far and they are not as good as arod and pujols and howard

  • Can pitches like this happen in the Majors, and because it is coming so slow, you'd think the batter would have enough time to react and knock the thing clear out!

  • its a fucken slow curve stupid comments!

  • how can u look at that pitch wow and yes ths and eephus pitch

  • Actually idoits its called a 12-6 curve.

  • eephus..but nice try

  • yeah it's an eephus buddy

  • uhhhhh actually idiot, wait wtf, have u even ever seen a baseball game?! a 12-6 curve goes down yes but WTF the point of the eephus pitch is to fool the batter because of the speed. its a eephus pitch. u wanna see a 12-6 curve; search up 'Barry Zito"

  • heavenerheat3...you are possible the dumbest peice of shit to think thats a 12-6thats ridiculous. THAT IS AN EEPHUS

  • No thats his curve i was watching other videos of this pitcher and that is his curve ball it usually goes about 100km/h but this was just a little slower, NOT AN EEPHUS

  • not an eephus pitch that was a slow curve a eephus doesn't break like that lol

  • u dumb fuck a 12-6 is a good 70 75 mph thats an ephus pitch nothing but a lob going no more than 50

  • the exact same thing happend to me, it sucks, hard

  • owned.

  • Eephus, slow curve, gravity ball... whatever you want to call it, it was pretty sweet.

I saw in some of the older comments where people were saying David Ortiz would crush one of those... I can't remember the exact game or who the pitcher was but last year Ortiz got completely frozen by a called third strike 55 mph "curve" that looked a lot like that one... He just looked at the ump, laughed, and walked back to the dugout. As one guy said, it's all about the set up...fastball, slider, WTF???

  • @possumverde if i remember right.... it was kazohito tadano... came through the Japanese leagues and then pitched for the clevland indians...

  • lol the batter just kinda lies down like WTF?

  • i think he threw eephus wrong

  • thats called a gravity ball

  • thts eephus

  • eephus pitch!

I suppose you could call it a very slow curve, but it's an eephus

  • haha the batter probably feels like an idiot now...

  • That's basically what they call the Eephus pitch. Just a slow lobbing pitch that throws a hitter off, especially if you can't get him out and you need something to confuse him.

  • nice

  • that wasn't even a curve he just through it high and slow

  • failed bunt rofl

  • looked more like an eephus pitch to me but it could have been a slow curve. hard to tell

  • epic 12-6 curve ftw

  • thats a mini eepheus pitch

  • ZOMG I throw this pitch

  • lol

  • Hahah the laugh by the audiance was the best. :P

  • No, this is real.

  • well they teach you to go with the pitch, :P

  • lean into it. you're already halfway down

  • knowing how to play baseball and read the batter before u throw.....get off ur pc some time

  • its japanese baseball, they play more small ball than usa, thats why they won wbc.

  • what is small ball?i am not fimilar with baseball......XD

  • small ball is going up to the plate and hitting singles and "hitting it wer they aint". Also bunting and moving the runners more often, even the cleanups bunt which is smthn that is never seen in mlb. The opposite would be going up to plate just to hit homeruns and balls to the outfield.

  • Hey Japa1990. obviously you haven't heard of the Minnesota Twins!!

  • i dont know why that should be "obvious" and it really isnt because I do follow MLB, in fact one of my favorite players in the MLB is morneau.

  • small ball is singles, bunts and small hits rather than long ball, which is doubles triples, home runs, and such.

  • Comment removed

  • no escuse for what lol, do you even know what the term small ball refers to in baseball terms? And now that you mention the size of the ball, in fact the baseball size used in npb league is smaller than the mlb ball.

  • If im right it's only like 0.13 inches smaller. o-o

  • yeah its just a tad smaller, in the long term it does make a bit of difference in the grip.

  • hahahahahhaahahahahahaah

uve never played/watched/listened to baseball before

    small ball is a phrase

  • @japa1990 all country play sameball at WBC

  • Thats A Nasty Curve Ball

  • why is he bunting with two strikes anyways?

  • how u know he had 2 strikes looks like he was bout to walk back to box

  • lol kkkooll

  • lmao........the guy in the back round

  • haha. that was funny

  • can i help you?... no, just looking! And hey retards, it's just a really slow curve ball

  • wtf!?

    japanese giants

    xD

  • They didn't call themselves as Giants at first. The name was given by the Americans during their tour in the US. It was in the 30's, I remember.

  • was that the eephus

  • looked like it

  • Imanaka actually threw his curve that slow. He would change speeds on it, but it would never go above 105 km/h. However, that curve was what ruined his career after only a couple years.

  • wowowowowowow rip off of the giants jersey

  • seriously

  • Not really. The Yomiuri Giants have been around since 1934, while the Giants moved to San Fran in 1958. So, if anything, it was the other way around.

  • aswome

  • WHY IN THE HELL WAS HE BUNTING WITH TWO STRIKES

    retard

  • uniform rip-off of the Dodgers -_-

  • awsome reaction

  • lol thats called an eephus pitch

  • Talk about freezing the batter

Did you see his knees buckle?

    HAHAHAHAH

  • the announcers make me laugh every time

  • that was a hangger...

that would have been gone if he wasnt bunting.

  • hang it u bang it ha

  • "Striku"

  • that wuz one of the best pitches i've ever seen...lol

  • lolz

  • lmao

  • lol at that batter

  • knees buckled. hahahaha

  • Holy crap! I wish I could throw that!

  • dat was beast

  • lol dragons instead of dodgers
