i don't know if anyone's commented on it yet how badass it is that she's just HOLDing that tambourine! i don't know what was going through her mind at the performance, but i wondered if she just liked the seething intensity with the downplayed comping she had and figured the 16th notes woulda been "too much." she's a true artist.... maybe the tambourine was a tribute to the bootyshaker that this song inherently is...? whatever. Nikka's "cooking" is good either way!

wow she is so incredibly talented she is one of the rare artistst whose live performances are better than simply listening to the album. She somehow reminds me of good old Tina Turner in this vid (though many fans will probably hate me for saying this but i think it is true...).

Man, that's why I love Nikka so damn much right now. She honestly GETS IT!!! She's not into making the "bling" or getting her image plastered all over the place. Nope, she just wants to have a good time with the rest of us through her music. And yeah, she truly is something else on stage. Nikka Costa is awesome!! I have never seen anyone deliver so much soul and funk in my whole life!!! She brings something that is hard to achieve when she performs and both her albums deliver and new and amazing genre of music suitable for Nikka Costa to be able to shake her ass around!!
