Basically what happened is that while you were in jail, the time the Mob Boss gave you to find his money went up. So his hitman came to the jailhouse and bailed you out, only to kill you shortly afterwards.

They did but not for the NES version of Deja Vu. The Sequal only exists for Gameboy and the Atari Version. I wish NES has the sequal, because I do not really like Atari.
