this performance is better than 9th gen's because it carries so much history that the 5th generation, especially Ai and Risa, have gone through. wait some years though, and the one by the 9th gen will have somehow the same value. To me, in both performances vocals are at the same level tbh.

The 5th Generation may not be my favorite generation, but they are definitely the most together-ed generation. I mean, Aibon and Nono stuck together but Charmy and Yossie were generically friends. Same goes for 6th generation. Mikitty didn't really do anything with Sayu, Reina and Eri.

'suki na' = favorite

'senpai' = upperclassman

'suki na senpai' would translate literally into 'my favorite upperclasman', but everywhere else I've seen it translates it into 'the senior I love' or something of the like.

Perhaps it's because of the ridiculous dress she's wearing. Unless, of course, it's meant to be ripped off to reveal another outfit that uses less than half of the material for the original outfit. But I haven't seen the rest of the concert to be able to tell.

and seriously, Nacchi isn't that good. Yossie was best. Even the Gokkies were nicer themselves without her doing the solo.

Suki na Sempai is just own. Has always been and will always be the Gokkie song.

I love this song, and the special setup of the backup kohei's to the senpai soloist.

Also of note, 2005 summer's concert features Yossie singing this solo backed up by 6th gen + koharu.

At that time this sequence was considered a ceremony of succession of the Spirit of Morning Musume from Abe Natsumi,"Mothership" of this group,to 5th generation members.A very memorable scene.
