  • cause it's fake. only for performance

  • @semicomer

  • jet li on one.

  • great...

  • The three section stafff is amazing.

  • I agree!

  • Zelda!

  • Eastern2western is correct on his comments about the movie as I had read a bit about the making of this movie. I believe this was also Jet Li's 1st movie role at the age of 16 while also having become martial arts champion in China

  • His age at the time was between 18 and 19. He was born in 1963 and the first Shaolin Temple came out in 1982. At 16 he was still competing for his wushu team.

  • historically significant movie

    1) came right after culture revolution basically, it fed a thirsty nation after 10 years of propaganda films

    2) saved shaolin temple, before this movie, the temple was dying and every one is forgetting its existence. after the movie, martial art became its biggest cottage industry and billions of people visit it everyday

    3) revitalized chinese film industry because it showed the world that china has ton of top martial artists willing to work for pennies

  • lal at people saying donni yen is way more skilled.........

  • He's performing (at 0:30)the style I'm trying to study: Chuojiaofanziquan. It's rather difficult with all the kicking techniques you'll find in Chinese Martial Arts. Great display from a truly great

  • O.M.G i bet i cant even get near him...dont mess..

  • èske Jet Li se Ayisyen?

  • Jet Li in this opening sequence is performing the style that he trained in his great martial art career: Chuojiaofanziquan(feet poking style). Great display

  • jet li is amazing

  • Classic. No wire-fu here.

  • 看起来花哨了些,不太实用;

    其实不然,武术是冷兵器时代的自然产物,欧洲没有类似的东西,恰恰说明我们中国人是极富创造力的民族。

    武术练得好的军队,实战力绝对很高。

  • now that is real wushu. look how perfect and swift the moves are. he makes the wooden bo staff seem likes its made out of rubber. now that is a dificult thing to do.

  • I think the spear is made of waxwood.
