buncha lame land rover fanboys thumbs-downing everyone who speaks the truth. That water isn't deep. River? It has no current. I see puddles like that on the road when we have a good rainstorm, and I drive my Dodge Stratus through them without problems. :p
I bet that guy would have felt like a complete toolbag if he hydrolocked his engine. :p
@TJvigilante yep. gas sucks ass. with gas you cannot go deeper than your hood. with a diesel engine with a snorkel you could be up to your chin in water and you'd be fine! you can snorkel a gas engine, but it's ALOT harder. plus diesel gives you better torque.
@runswithscissorsalot you can hydrolock any engine, diesel or gas. Snorkeling a gasser doesn't take any extra effort than doing it to a diesel. the problem is waterproofing. But that doesn't make Land Rover diesels superior to gas engines...because you have to worry about all the other electronics that are bound to be in the Rover. don't think for a minute that a new Range Rover is completely waterproof with a Snorkel.
I say fairplay to him, I'd like to see you all buy a Landrover and then drive it through a puddle, let alone a lake, yeah so its not that deep, but maybe cos he paid for the car and to deep could ruin it!
Now that I would love to see. If a corolla drove through that it would flood the engine, the inside of the car and completely ruin the car all together. But a sucky car like that deserves every bit of that.
i agree not even i can ride through that with my bike!lol.range rover sucks its not even half the rim hight it looks like that cuz the idiot wwent fast
the air springs are not so much a problem as the height sensors and wiring are. Oh ya don't forget it's really hard to drive anywhere when the gay electric park brake locks up on its own
if it in i would say keep it but if its not then keep your springs as you can do many other things to your 4wd ... ive been finding it hard to get after market parts for mine
To replace the air bags cost as much as a spring anyway.
A lot of people say it's a problem with them but it's just wear from use.
the only thing I will say is that if you got one under 1999 it was all lucas electrics and they had problems but after bmw brought out land rover they changed everything to bosch and that fixed a load of problems now ford own land rover :(
i prefer my defender, 2001 and it only has 6 levers and 6 button. so simple no electrics to worry about at all :D

Amazingly no one gives a shit. Are you arguing the fact that Disco 3 is the best off-road vehicle? Do some research you fucking yank.

That water is so shallow that even the bisexual shoe salesman below me could drive through it in his overpriced Chevy Tahoe!
Tarck452 3 years ago
Sounds like a diesel. I wish we could get that version in the US. It gets like 35 MPG.
scotth0 4 years ago 5
more like 28, but still good for a 2.7 tonne 4WD

Do you have air suspension or you have abandoned it and installed a set of springs?
Heard that RR's air suspension is a source of great annoyance because of it's poor reliability. :0(
MaximDef90 4 years ago
I have air suspension.
It's been one of the best things on the 4wd.
To replace the air bags cost as much as a spring anyway.
