  • There is nothing at all wrong with cannibalism. Firstly, eating people reduces the world population on our very overcrowded planet, secondly, eating people provides a good supply of protein for those who are left and who otherwise may go hungry. So eat up and save the world!

  • @MegaGayjesus You know, I always wonder about " overpopulation" when I look out of an airplay window at all the uninhabitted land below.

  • @rastawella1 There are now seven and a half billion of us on this planet, this has more than doubled in my lifetime, how much longer will this go on?

  • the worst soth sea cannibals were polynesians like Maori,Cook Islanders and Marrquseansand the rapanui.Fijians-a melanesian-polynesian mix were also ardent cannibals.

  • Hello! Where i become the Original Film in Full Length (Among The Cannibal Islaes of the South Pacific (1918))

    THX

  • they look like stewie from family guy!

  • And I think to myself....What A Wonderful Worrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrld

  • Some of this film was done by Martin E. Johnson in 1917 or 1919. He made two trips to see Chief Nagapate. there is a clip of Chief Nagapate in this film.

  • Respect for them, it's tough to survive in the wild, and these people do it everyday, the ancestors of humankind surely live just the the way they are.

  • They are trying to be like the Ananaki...the coneheads of Nibiru

  • when they wrapped the heads like that, they look alien. i wonder what made them want to look like that. are they related to em. mmmmmmmmmmm!!!!

  • it's probably papua, new guinea, or borneo. tribes there practiced ritual anthropophagy. joseph campbell documented a new guinea ritual of newly weds being killed and eaten after consummating their marriage. the tribe eating them was said to carry their spirits and it was considered an honor to be chosen.

the skull binding or shaping was oddly enough practiced on all continents, including the tomman islands, but these people are clearly aboriginal. the practice took months, not years.

  • ang cute ni bantay

  • Didntvthe French also do this to their heads?

  • Melanesians - could be one of the islands of modern day Vanuatu (New Hebrides anglo-french condominium pre-1980 independance).

  • The guy @ 0:41 looks like father of Kimbo Slice. He seems to be ready to beat up anyone who comes close to challenge him.... Tumbs up if you like my comment.

  • nakakatakot ang itsura nila. they really look like "savages"

  • @pulrivera70 hahah! tama ka tol!

  • OOhh,now i know where they got the idea for the cone heads movie, hummm.

  • Martin Johnson went to the Solomon Islands at least three times; in 1912, 1918 and 1920. The most substantial film he made was "Among the Cannibal Isles of the South Pacific" (1918) from which this appears to be extracted. In the early 1920s he created a number of short films from the mass of South Seas footage and this appears to be one of them, although the title is undocumented. The people are Melanesian and did come over from Papua. So, the film is likely earlier than 1921.

  • @bigsteve532 LIKE THE CRACKA WHORE FROM THE CAUCUS CAVES OF EUROPE WHO BIRTHED YOU.

  • why do they look african?

  • "The Mangbetu people of north-east Democratic Republic of the Congo also practised head elongation. Babies' heads were bound with cloth to create the desired shape. As adults, the effect was emphasised by wrapping the hair around a woven basket frame so that the head appeared even more elongated." We could call this nothing more than an in situ cultural practice or one of diffusion over time. What do you think? Remember the strange heads of some Egyptians?

  • I've heard of this head binding thing before in other cultures as well

  • "...in the Nahai-speaking area of Tomman Island and the south south-western Malalukan mainland opposite (Australia), a person with a finely elongated head is thought to be more intelligent, of higher status, and closer to the world of the spirits."

The really odd thing is too literally capture this culture in time but when you see images of the modern people doing it none look like these. 1920's huh.

Google: Artificial cranial deformation, Atacameños / Native Americans. Really curious.

  • What is curious is we don't think of people looking like Afrikans in the South Sea Islands, but this footage proves a people like Afrikans or like Austro-loids, who have been classed as being closer to Causoids, but I doubt that any so called European/Caucasoid folks would touch these cousins with a genetic test?

  • Wow, I have a friend who looks like them! Except, he prefers a green vegan diet rather a carnivorous one.

  • does the girl in 3:19 have facebook? she's really hot!

  • They didnt eat the owners for those guns, they whipped their asses and confiscated them.

  • These people are sick, twisted, and deconstructive. Why do they do that to their heads? That cannot be very good for their already primitive brains.

  • where is a sign of canibalism?

  • These are most probably the Great Nambas tribe of New Hebridese (presently Vanuatu) .The tribes were first filmed by Osa & Martin Jonson in 1910's.

  • bring them to america to help complete our multicultural paradise

  • @BigBishop1

their are some wild tribes in america... but they preferred to be left allow from the outside world.. either scared to change or hate...

  • These are people from the Tobriand Islands east of Papua New Guinea

    ~foreigner

  • Looks like the so-called Negritos brothas and sistas.

  • Am I missing something? Where in this video does it say ANYTHING about Hong Kong?

  • Chinese???

  • This is a good example of some foreigners always claimed themselves as Chinese expert. ( Most of them cannot even name 3 provinces in China ). The funny thing is they always tell us what to do.

  • IT IS NTH RELATED TO HK

  • What on earth does this have to do with Hong Kong?

The natives in this clip don't even have 1% of oriental blood in them.

This looks more like Papua New Guinea, somebody better look up their Atlas..

  • @micherosario most of the south pacific islands have colored people (like papuans) as their natives. It should be obvious with a little help from Wiki.

  • @lordennis01 When I made my comment, this video had audio, and it referred to this place as Hong Kong!! Talk about clueless .That is why I made my comments. I know exactly where Hong Kong is as I was born and raised there. AND I know exactly the kind of inhabitants the South Pacific Islands have, Did I not refer to it looking more like Papua New Guinea. .... I don't need Wiki to help. but thanks anyway.
