  • Do u always use the Honda oil filters or have u tried something else? Ian thinking about trying royal purple oil filter for my Honda, what do u think?

  • @honda27crv I keep stock to always GH items. I just got my motor mountsdone GH honda.

  • I find turning the wheel all the way to the right, allows you easy access to the filter...just saying.

  • @naturefreedom For I am lucky I can reach just fine. Yes turning will help , but may also get in the way if you're lefty LOL.

  • You're suppose to lube the inside treads of the filter so it wont be hard to take off the filter the next time. And i wouldn't suggest putting the funnel in while draining the oil. Once you take the cap off, leave it wide open so the air will help flush the old oil faster and more properly.

  • Do I need a new washer every time I change oil?

What is the purpose anyway? The old washer look good to me.

Is Pennzoil Oil good> It cause cheap at Walmart.

    Or should I use Castrol>

    Honda oil is too expensive.

    Thanks for the instruction.

  • @lazyhorse22 no you may reuse the old washer it stops oil from leaking out i the washer is lost you still can tighten up no leaks washers give seals. penzoil should be fine its prefrence I use castroil lol

  • shoulder you start the car before you check the oil on the dip stick?

  • @masterkdrifter normally you do for a few secs, but if not you will ahve what will go into the filter in the pan. so I do at time. thanks I got a oil change to do now. dam it.

  • What size of crush washer do you use? Where do you order it from?

  • Thank you! I'm a girl and I've always wanted to do this, this'll be my first try.

  • @mkitwhite30 take your time. the hardest parts are of the socket and rachet, a longer rachet will offer better leverage. while using the correct oil filter socket as well.

  • @fishycomics Thank you! The longest part was figuring out which side of my car the oil pan was on since my car didn't come with the manual. :( But after that it didn't take me any time at all. I have a question is it okay that I didn't hand screw on the oil filter? I got it pretty tight but I had to use the oil filter cap wrench to get it back on.

  • @mkitwhite30 you have to use a tool yes, ifyou just hand tight you leve yourself vulniable for a lost oil filter. hand tight, then usea tool(oil socket) 1/4 turn ortourqqed by specs around 10lbs unusre

  • awesome video

  • Yeah! Very very simple and basic! Even grade schoolers will know how to change oil with this video. Thanks alot.

  • Great video for the DIYer. Excellent advice to replace the crush washer and to use a filter socket. But you didn't use a torque wrench.

  • correct tell that to my comany, no need to tighten beyond the limits

  • thanks buddy

  • One thing I do is start engine and make sure there is pressure and oil light goes out then record mileage and date of change. Nice job!

  • It is great! Thank you so much for sharing!!!

  • cool i didn't know you don't need to lift the car up... Do you need long arms? =)

  • Great job!!!

  • could have been a lot better , due to the issues I had thanks

  • Very thorough! :) Jack
