I don't see how this is keeping tradition alive, (there is nothing traditional about it except that there are people wearing kilts and playing bagpipes) but it does look like fun.
@CityOfLewisville Maybe I don't understand then. I have been in multiple pipe bands (including a highly respected FD pipe band) in the NY Metropolitan area. I feel that I am fairly well versed in pipe band tradition. I don't understand how making up new things like wearing fire helmets, grunting between attack rolls, and jumping around during a performance is keeping tradition alive. We would be laughed off the streets of NYC if we showed up in March doing and wearing any of these things.
@beachmedic Were you at any of the speaking events or several break out sessions this day and night, or are you just commenting on this one particular video?
@hootyhaha I was commenting on the video alone. I thought the speaking events and break out sessions were well planned and worthwhile when I attended in the past. Unfortunately I could not make this year's symposium. The City of Lewisville puts on a great event and are awesome hosts. I mean no disrespect to their hard work and effort. What I can't understand is how the event is dedicated to the task of Keeping Tradition Alive, yet bands basically do whatever they like.
HOAH !!!!!!!!!......... So glad to see Ya all again...... Hopently more video's from this amazing Piping day in Lewisville..... Och Aye Lads and Lassie's :-)

@beachmedic If a person does not understand or know the traditions, then they will not see the tradition. Thanks for watching though.
