Change all of your other "fixes" back to factory, and go play echo free!

  • @thorjor1 doesnt work either, at least not for me. that type of fix was the very first thing i tried, i even put it as low as 41k 16bt

  • Anyone tried using a USB or PCI sound card? Does it fox the sound echo issue?

  • @tntexplosivesltd i tried sound blaster audigy se pci same problem . It's something about core2duo or memory leak i think

  • @tntexplosivesltd Tried this, problem remains.

  • @tntexplosivesltd I use a small usb Steelseries soundcard. That does not fix the issue. The main problem is the Intel Core 2 Duo. Somehow the sound-engine has trouble with older multicore support it seems. Disabling one core fixes the problem, however, the game is crawling and unplayable in this state.

  • I have the same exact problem. Don't make fun of me, but I have a NVIDIA GeForce GT 220. They don't make them anymore... I might buy a new one in 2012.

  • I see the problem.

Intel Core 2 Due. What the fuck is that?

  • Hm tested the compatibility mode, that fixes the sound.. But now i have ghosts lol.. Invisible AI :).. I dont think this game will ever run smooth on my old akoya :P

  • As i said earlier i have the same problem.. I am also on a core duo.. have read about the fix with turning off the other core.. But imo thats not a fix. People running core 2 duo wont be able to run the game at lowest with a proper framerate.

  • changing compatibility mode worked for me.... thanx...

  • My specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.52 GHz

    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650

    RAM 4GB

    Windows 64-bit

    How it worked for me:

I set the sound to 48k MHz

Set the Compatibility to Win 98/ME

    @OP Get 64-bit OS.

  • @KetchupT100 /watch?v=D-4PTbDqbzA

  • Thkxx U ... Bro !! It Work !!

  • windows vista and 7 - ctrl+Shift+exit, then click processes tab tick, show processes from all users, find bf3 and right click it,set affinity to only 1 core,(CPU 0)

windows xp -ctrl+alt+delete then click processes tab tick, show processes from all users, find bf3 and right click it,set affinity to only 1 core,(CPU 0)

for other types of computer, you wasted ur freking money.

    win

  • i have amd x4 965

    GTX 550 ti

i have no problem with the sound play on high setting

no solution for the sound unless you upgrade your pc

  • Hey, I was the first person to post that I also have this problem and I can confirm setting the game to run on 1 core fixes things. I have an E8500 so luckily its fast enough to run the game on 1 core. If you don't have a fast dual core cpu, you may be screwed until a patch hits.

  • Oh and i have X2 6000+ dual core cpu too, and in Alpha and Beta the sound was like this, after advancing throught the rounds. In final release we all play now, this sound issue is aprox 85% gone in my situation. It's still there when damn heavy action going on and especially LAG, but not so bad as here or as it was in Alpha and Beta. Would be great if DICE fixes this.

  • I noticed many with this problem have dual core CPU's. And the problem may be because of that. Since we all know DICE said sound is being done on the CPU, then pretty much your dual core besides doing the usual work to run a game, it has to render properly the audio too. Of course in BC2 it worked fine cuz it wasnt such demanding as BF3.

  • Solution for this problem:

bf3.exe right click > properties > Compatibility > Compatibility Mode > Windows 98/ Windows ME > Click Ok.

Now play and have fun. Echo Problem Solved!

  • @Neoewu Nah, game won't launch.

  • @tntexplosivesltd , Sorry brother, I worked for me, My operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit.

  • @tntexplosivesltd Not it launches and fixes the echo..

  • @Neoewu This solution working on my comp. Thank you.

  • @1992altus, You are welcome.

  • @Neoewu works for me !! thank you man :)

  • @Neoewu THANKS !!

  • @Neoewu doesn't work

  • Thanks Dude, this works for me

  • Respond to this video... this works

  • Respond to this video... don set CPU 0, Select All Procesors, the game is faster

  • @Neoewu you do that n you'll be using only 1 core.. you will nt be able to set the affinity

  • The sound is ok now but the game is still slow. I've tried to reinstall my graphic drivers, run the game and everithing was fine.(Even i could use better graphical settings). Than i've tried run it again and everithing is back!!! Damn!...

  • @Neoewu solved , it worked for me , TONS OS THANKS ! , thank u

  • game launch but it lag like crazy ur fix sucks

  • @Neoewu this is not solve . U run bf3 on 1 core CPU . thats minus 20 Fps

  • It's great but under this compatibility mode the game is slow. Under Windows 7 i can play with high settings. Under Windows Me it sucks. I think the problem is not with Realtek. I've tried to disable that and run the game only with nvidia hd audio. Maybe the sound card... Nothing is solved :)

  • @Neoewu Problem not solved, when you put that, the campaign won't launch.

  • @Neoewu thanks worked for me :)

  • @Neoewu Great man..It worked..Thanks a lot..

  • shit... anyway to fix this without setting affinity?? seriously its slow, we need a better fix >.< i also have core 2 duo, im really thinking its because of that now, i read all the comment we all have core2 duo... its seriously annoying but if you set the games setting to all low, the echo stops but... but it comes back when there is action.... darn maybe i need a better pc T.T

  • i have set it so only cpu 0 is in use but now the game runs realy slow and i still have the same problem i also updated all my drivers but that didn't work..........can someone help me please?

  • Post your pc configuration me first : core2duo e4600 2.4 ghz 3gb ram geforce 8600gt with forceware 285.62 msi 945p neo5 bios 9.5 sound blaster audigy se switched of in windows and realtek hd audio 80gb hdd 1tb hdd and 1tb hdd and the software that could mess with hardware : windows 7 32 bit ultimate codec pack k-lite full 7.9 diskeeper 2011 pro v15 net framework 1,2,3,4 ms visual c++ v9.0 norton internet security 2012 and steam

  • I tried removing several redundant video drivers using device manager in Win 7, all Nvidia drivers. That seemed to improve the situation only briefly; after a few minutes, the echos returned. Of course, Win 7 will automatically reinstall the drivers the next time you reboot, so this is not a solution. It seems to have only helped because Realtech audio card and Nvidia card may have been sharing some control of sound.

  • 1. disable catalyst AI, 2. enable triple buffer,3. inside the game, disable vsync and put AA in 2X

  • Do any of you have realtek hd audio or sound blaster audigy se and geforce (any) in your pc ?

  • @przemyslawwiecki As far as I can see I don't have RealTek, and I have and ATI card.

  • @przemyslawwiecki Yes, I have both Realtek audio card and Geforce video card. I have the same EXACT problem with the game!! I have been unable to find a solution so far. I also had a huge problem getting Origin to install properly. It took over an hour on the phone with tech support. The very latest Win 7 update (released that day!) worked, but it only went around the Origin bug.

Hey Origin and EA... I want my money back!!!

  • @przemyslawwiecki

I have Realtek HD audio device

    and nvidia Gefroce 9800M GTS

its a gateway laptop, and I have the same sound problem, just bit worse than this vid.

    did you find a solution?

  • Setting the Affinity fixes the sound problem, but otherwise the game becomes to slow to play.

  • Battlefield 3 Double Sound Echo Fix By Dr Ali Aliraqi

Before you begin and load your mission (on Game Menu)

Press Alt + Tab then Task Manager then rigth click on BF3.exe then Set Affinity

after that unselect CPU 1 ( Select only CPU 0 )

  • @MaxDeckerCZ Wowww U Are Genious Its Fixed Thanks

  • @MaxDeckerCZ but the game will be slower , no?

  • @AreYouTheNothing yes it does....it make it worst playing..actually running core 2 quad, 4 gb ram + 9600gt....i run very slow while playing with 98..... we must simply wait for a damn patch from ea..:/

  • @AreYouTheNothing I don't see difference in slowdown, but someone says it slows

  • thx man ur awsome @MaxDeckerCZ

  • @MaxDeckerCZ I did the same thing and it worked. The only problem is that it still lags during video sequences. I have the same specs basically as the guy in the video.

  • @MaxDeckerCZ that worked for me as well

  • @MaxDeckerCZ

Yay! Fucking Dice didn't make the game compatible all mutlicore systems? What is this the year 2004?

  • @MaxDeckerCZ NOW GRAPHIC DELAY : ( SOME SOLUTION PLEASE :d?

  • @MaxDeckerCZ thanks man..

    works fine

  • This Problem Craped My Pc How To Solve It Kindly Help

  • do u any fix for this problem???

  • same problem how can i prevent this error?

  • @KaramjaHead Please see the Get Satisfaction page. Also read the previous comments, I mention the fact that setting the processor affinity to only 1 core helps. If your graphics card is fast enough, this shouldn't affest the gameplay too much.

  • you dont need to set the affinity or nothing, if you have a ati radeon card you need to put the Mipmap Detail leven on Quality, trust me it works

  • @MrCrazyGenio it doesnt.

  • @MrCrazyGenio The What in What? Please check what you are writing before you send it

  • i have same problem and sometimes game crap

  • this problem seems to be popping up mostly on dual core Processors

  • Just made a "bug report" on Get Satisfaction, link in description.

  • @tntexplosivesltd Same problem with a mixed sound configuration : G35 and Integrated sound device

I've deleted settings content under C:/Users/my windows profile/Documents/Battlefield 3/settings/ (or somewhat) and problem is gone (for now)

    Savegames will be deleted also...

  • Okay, so as suggested by INDIANG19, setting the processor affinity to only one core fixes the sound problem. It also makes the game crawl, but it narrows the problem down a lot.

  • I have this Fucking Bug too , make me crazy !

    DualCore E5300 2.6 Ghz

    Ram 4 GB DDr2

Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT 1GB + 1.7GB shared with RAm

    Windows 7 64 bit

    IntelG41CN

  • Well, ATI at least are releasing a new version of their drivers (Catalyst 11.10) on the 31st, with special optimisations for Battlefield 3. Hopehully this will solve some of the problems for us ATI users. Probably not, looks like the only optimisations are for 5000/6000 series =(

  • Me too... :-/ Is very anoying :-(

    Asus G51VX

    C2D T9500 2,6 GHz

    4 GB RAM

    GeForce 260GTX 1 GB

    Win 7 x64 Ultimate

  • guyz i jus uninstalled the latest nvidia drivers n reinstalled my previous version i.e 280.26 ... it fixed my problem ... n now i can even put sum settings on high ... with smooth gameplay ... hope this helps ...

  • I have the same problem!

  • I have the same problem. My specs are:

    AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 2.8Ghz

    GeForce 8800GTS512

    Windows 7 x64

    4Gb RAM

    MSI M2N-E

    integrated Realtek audio

  • reading all the comments ... v all have a core2duo .. n i had heard that this game didnt work well on core2duos ... thats a shame ... even the witcher 2 was cpu intensive game but it didnt really have problems running on my list ... on medium settings that is ... core2duo e7500 2.93 ghz , 4gb ram , 9800gt

  • i got this problem too P7450 @ 2.13 GHZ

    Geforce 9600 GT

  • i got this problem too

  • i have the same problem.

everyone who has this problem, write your specs here, so we"ll see what we have in common.

    my specs:

    intel core 2 duo e8400 3gHz

    3gb RAM

    motherboard gigabyte G31M-S2L

    nvidia geforce 9500 gt 512

so it's within the minimum requirements

  • Man I have exactly the same problem, I updated all my drivers and its no good.. I don't know how to fix that.. My specs are:

    Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 2.53 Ghz

    ATI Radeon HD 4670 512MB

    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

    4GB DDR3 Ram

  • And I have an Athlon X2 3.1 dual core, Radeon 5670 and 4GB RAM...

  • @mantanz Wow, you get the issues too? Very interesting...

  • @tntexplosivesltd Yeah. When I first tried playing it at 1920x1080 I got the issues quite early on... I switched to 720p and I got several missions in (to the end of the F18 mission) before the echo problem occurred. This seems to be a memory leak... I've had similar issues with my own programs... hopefully will be fixed in a patch! I may be wrong, but either way, it's annoying!!!!

  • @mantanz Right. We need to submit bug reports then.

  • @tntexplosivesltd Actually, just thinking... if it was a memory leak, everyone would be experiencing it. Pretty odd, though... both ATI and nVidia users and intel and AMD users are being affected!

  • @tntexplosivesltd can u tell me how to submit it ? i have the same proble only the echo is ten times worse

  • @xelloschan At the moment I just have a bug report page on Get Satisfaction. Link is in description. Sign in with your origin ID and pass, and say that you have the problem too. That's the best we have atm =/

  • @tntexplosivesltd just set the affinity of the processor to only one core, that is only one CPU,it worked for me..hope it does for you too :)

  • Seems like memory leak issues to me... game runs fine but after a while the echoing starts...

  • Comment removed

  • Same thing here.. annoying echo. I think your right about the bottleneck (somewhere), but would be nice to know exactly what does this.

Im gonna go look for updated drivers for my mainboard with onboard sound, hope that will work :) . laters..

  • @raadden What sort of hardware do you have?

  • Mine is having the same problem your video shows. Do you know how to fix it?

  • @Cruor34 I think it's a processor bottleneck, minimum processor required is 2.4GHz. What processor do you have?

  • @tntexplosivesltd Intel e8500

  • @Cruor34 Now that is odd. I thought it was because my processor was under spec, but yours it well over. What graphics card do you have?

  • @tntexplosivesltd sorry late reply. Its an ATI 4780 1 gig. Its not a graphics thing, happens on low settings or high. I really cant understand what causes it. whole system is E8500, 4870 1 gig, 8 gigs of ram, Vista 64. I will try reformatting soon, maybe some program running in the gack ground causes it.

  • my laptop is 2.4 ghz
